hey Rob pretty nice, i like that echoing guitar sound. seems like you had a good feel for dealing with the echo in the rythm of the song if you follow me. thats always fun.
only constructive criticism i could offer is i cant understanfd what youre talking about in the song. (more vocl presence) . keep em comin. did you fill out a profile of yourself so we can see what instruments you play and what your favorite tv show is (very important). ttyl

Hey, thanks for the feedback, Later Rob

I agree with Matt; Good changes, no problem with the playing or the quality of your vocal; it's just too far back. What I would improve would be the fadeout. It seems to fade a bit, then it just stops. A solo and/or some guitar breaks would keep this from sounding too montonous as well. There is the stop, but it's not really enough. That would be a good place to come back in with some lead, tho. Overall, it's pretty darn good for a first effort; looking forward to hearing more as you get a handle on things.

great feedback, thanks...ermm...mcarp555...i shall do exactly that, raise vocal, sort fade out....look for lead guitarist....know any lead guits who'd be interested? Can you recommend a mic? The tascam headphone one is fine for ideas, but i think its time to spend some money on something that looks a little more rock and roll! thanks again, this site was well worth the effort!! Later Rob

hey muddy. i like the tune alot. love the guitar tone. what's your setup? guitar, effects, etc. very cool rythm part. the vocals in the back like that don't sound that bad but i'm used to my bloody valentine, sugar/bob mould, lush, and alot of those shoe-gazer bands back in the day (mid 90s). btw, you'd probably like a new band that's out now called the stratford 4. they have a echo and bunnymen crossed with shoegazer guitar effects. good stuff.

thanks mjd, yeah that rhythm part sounds good...cant remember what the effect was...the one with the delay...to be honest though the rhythm didnt sound very interesting until i clicked on that effect ....mexican telecaster...dont expect any more technical data from me...dunno anything about music or instruments! its a telecaster and its beautifil! Im a bit like a girl who when asked to describe her 240hp vtec honda s2000 just says.."its red"!!

wow...so that was a PS5 guitar effect? i hadn't bothered using those yet. i guess i'm determined to use my pedals on everything. i'll check that effect out. i'm diggin' it. sorry but i'm not much of a lead player. it takes me forever to come up with anything i like. mostly it ends up being little repeated riffs a la the edge or coldplay...

hey your on the button with shoe gazing and little riffs from coldplay...and it was the edge i was trying to rip off!! so think about, have a go...the simpler the better ..thats my motto co s im too stupid to know better!! joking, but give it a go, nothing to lose, right?
yeah plugged the guitar straight in, and used the head phone mic, the PS5 just brought it to life. its a fantastic piece of kit.

hey theres lotsa folks here who can play lead. everybody recommends shure sm58 as a vocal mic, under 100. www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031113111452204213240150726620/g=home/search/detail/base_id/35413some people iuse an sm57 which is "the" choice for micing electric guitar amps also. (and drums, etc. etc) itd be great if you could try them locally someplace. (Tell everybody in the store to block their ears if you have to ) i ended up getting an audix om-2 as i LOVE what it does w/my voice (those little frequency range charts really do mean something . i even prefer it over more expensive ones i own often. but an sm58 is a good starting point. i think i read thats what the us president uses for his speeches. Myself, i dont own a 57 or 58, but everybody cant be wrong. we should continue this inb the gadgets forum if you have more ?'s

Hey Man Welcome to the group. Heres my thoughts how you could make it better ;D The vocals could be turned up more. So the listiner doesnt have to struggle to hear it. If I were You Id transpose it up at least a whole step. You sound like your singing pretty low? In your range. This will also allow you to get more power in your vocal, With a Better tone. I know I hate recording again realizing that my vocal tone is horrible. Very Frusturating. Speed it up alittle. Seemed to drag alittle to me, I think if you sped it up 6 more bpm or so would aliviate that. You got 2 Tracks after that. I think some Nice crunchy Guitar comping in parts, Would definetly get this song rocking a little more. Just My opinion though You got a nice rock sound starting to happen here. Lots of potiential. I think your Musicianship on the guitar is excellent. Bloody awesome for your first song. I think every one rushes there first song.(Recorded on the PS5) I know I did. (still do) I was so excited just to hear something that I created. I didnt fret to much over the details. Great Job I look forward to hearing more of your music. Its cool to hear some more modern styles being used with the PS5. Cameron P.s. Check my stuff out here if you want. www.soundclick.com/bands/8/latmatmusic.htm Im new to the world of recording also. Ive been doin this for I guess 4 or 5 months now. But Im getting better.

yep i think your right about the speed and lifting the voice. i'm going to rerecord this weekend.
you know the guitar isnt all that good, the effect really brought it alive. saying that i totally agree with "the first song" syndrome. i was blown away at the completeness of the sound, and couldnt care about the mistakes!
what a tool, band in a matchbox!
thanks for the encouragement...
i checked out your website but you have a serious amount of recordings there!! which one is your favourite? let me know and i'll download it.
later rob
