It's a darn fine recording as is; good job. I hear Petty, Springsteen, Nilsson in it, maybe even a bit of Leonard Cohen. If I was to add anything what would it be? Drums, bass, strings, maybe a bit of electric in the back. Was it recorded to the PS5 metronome? It'd be fairly easy to dial up a drum part if it is. Otherwise it might be a job for a live drummer. I liked it Rog, it's very good. Your vocals are great.

Rog, love your voice man. THIS IS TRICKY as ive always done the singer/acoustic thing too and it changes everything to add a band.. if it were ME ( ) Id keep this one simple. id add a basic click (Maybe onea the plastic cowbells) OR just a bass drum kick, OR just a ride cymbal: at a very slow tempo (inbetween verses) and a few cello or acoustci accents between verses. yea! or leave it alone. good song.. i keep spacing out and not listening to words as i type this. but if you hear a band behind it do a band i know what its like as my wife never understands /visualizes future changes im gonna make, shes always saying i like as is (I guess it could be worse yea im sorry but you sound just like springsteen, maybe a little like yourself

Have I heard this song before? Maybe on the radio?? If not, should be. Well done ballad. No constructive criticism, just applause...and not Springsteen, Cat Stevens.

Your voice was fantastic! As long was we are stereo-typing I would have to say either Springsteen, or Dave Mattews. Either way, they can both stand up with just an acoustic and really deliver. Maybe leave it as is?? Your choice. Stan

Hey Rog Hmmmm. Around 58 sec. Id kick in the the whole band. With a powerful feel. Then on till the end. Maybe in the intro have a guitar melody on top of what your playing. Maybe arpeggio's or something. Maybe some higher notes in the melody during the chorus would make for better dynamics. Good luck with the song. I feel that having An band feel would kick this up a few notches. Good luck

Roger, Tell me. While you're stretched out on your stomach singing, are you playing the guitar with it laying on the floor out in front of you, or are you able to play it behind your back? Now I'm no expert, but this doesn't sound like the best posture for playing the guitar or singing! I like your song. Great vocals. Jim

Roger, man, your voice is fantastic! Sorry, Cameron I disagree; I wouldn't turn it into a power-ballad. I think some smooth and sparse electronic beats and maybe some synth would compliment it very well - thinking of old Peter Gabriel style, you know? I'd love to give it a try and do a midi-file for it - but can't promise that I really can make it (How did that midi-thingy work again??? ) efkay

Im not saying a power ballad by any means just a band feel! Its can stay low key and all that but I do think that having a band feel and somemore dynamics would kick it up a notch. Like a bruce springteen song theres a band but its in no way a power ballad.
Just make it more intresting on the ears and stay true to your sound what ever that maybe.

Ah, now I understand, Cameron. But I still disagree ; I don't hear a "band", but only some ambient electronic to comfort the relaxed and airy feel ... Yeah; I fully agree with that !!! ;D

bottom floor . . . family on the third floor . . . sound still traveling through the vents . . . ha! my "music room" is actually a front porch that i winterized and soundproofed. i did not get around to adding it to the hot air system for heat so we leave the door open and amps keep it warm when theyre all on and the door's shut. i got a little oil filled electric that does the trick! now, the door is the weak spot in all my soundprooofing, and this one section where i wanted to leave some exposed barn boards.. beauty vs function... ah well.. happy hollidays
