That is a very good point. I am in the process of mixing a CD and right now 3 songs are completed. The combination of all 3 songs to record probably only equaled about 3 hours, not including the time it took to create the MIDI backing tracks.
On the other hand, I've spent several attempts at mixing and testing these 3 results which has accumulated to more than a dozen hours or more.
If this is a guideline, I will probably spend 4 hours for every recorded hour. When I get the time I hope to keep learning how to mix better and read more articles about it. Possibly get better equipment such as good monitors, etc.

Hey Stan,
I like the melody and the lyrics sit nicely here, I like the guitar work alot, has a neil young vibe to it... Good vocal work too.
The drums are too quiet, they are really drowned out, but other than then the mix sounds ok, it would be a beast to mix with all the guitar going on...
Good work, It'll take awhile to get used to using the stereo tracks, it really changes the way you think about panning... Something like that Rythm guitar may have been nice on one...
Anywho good job, I enjoy it!! Cameron

Cameron, Thanks for your input. About the only thing I've used stereo tracks on so far is to bounce the mix to 23/24 and then add a single effect during premastering in most cases. Definitely got some playing around to do before I get use to the machine's potential.
Right now I'm still only using the 4-5 tracks that I am acustom to using, and still having mixing problems. Hopefully I'll graduate to better usage and better mixes but I know this will take some time.
Thanks, Stan
