www.myspace.com/bobbieshadesHi to those that remember me. Really this post is for Mike. I used the PS5 recording vocal and guitar at the same time, and then adding in a bit of lead afterwards. Used Shure mic for vocal, no effects, no preamps. Les paul directly in with no effects. everything clean. only thing i did for the mix was pan a bit, and reverb a bit. only took a couple of hours to record and mix. the reason this is for mike is because of all the training he gave me (and all of us!) a few years ago. i remember him telling me that we should always aim to record with no intervention, or as little as possible. i always had this as a target, and only now have managed it. so mike, thanks mate. this is kinda for you. rob

I'm anxious to hear it Rob. I'm blocked from myspace at work so I'll listen when I get home tonite.
Glad to see you come back.

Robster, I like it. It's got a directness, an immediacy that comes through very well in the song and the production. Sometimes it's great to throw everything including the kitchen sink into a mix (I love doing it), but also sometimes it's great to keep it simple and let the song flex its muscles.
Thanks for thinking of us here. Keep rocking the hits, don't be a stranger.
Oh, and thanks for Lisa. too!

Like most of your lyrics, they are heart-felt and personal and also very good. It's easy for the listener to attach to your stories. I'd like to hear some piano accompanying the guitar to maybe add that extra element.
I'm glad to see you are back to doing some recording again. I've really missed it.
Thanks for sharing, Stan

Fantastic song! Heartfelt. I have a question. How did you record vocal and guitar at the same time. Is it possible to arm both inputs simultaneously? ...Or one input, two tracks simultaneously?

Thanks Stan, Mike, Lisa.
You are very welcome for Lisa, Mike!
Plan to return to recording with the PS5. I have just got the last piece of my "live" pedal set: a selector box (Boss LS-2), so that i can switch my vocal between output and input into a loop station (Boss XL-20). I have a vocal harmoniser (DigiTech Vocalist Live 2), and of course a wah pedal (Dunlop) and overdrive (RAT). I'll post picture and recordings from set up soon...well, as soon as I get to grips with the rig.

ROB~!~
Man it has been a while, glad your still doing music man! What a cool song man, I love it really nice. I can definitely hear a full arrangement for this but stands on it own... It amazes me how good of quality the PS5 records, the clean sound of the recording, good...
