Some of the greatest songs ever written are three-chorders. The major flaw with songs like this is that it's easy to trace whatever you hear back to other songs. That makes it difficult to have anything really 'new' in the tune, but if you just say nuts to that, it's still possible to turn out a nifty little gem.
Anyway, the melody and lyrics on this are great. There's a huge amount of potential in this song if you take the time to dig it out and present it the right way. Maybe a short middle section to break things up, certainly a better ending, perhaps repeating the tag lines:
Yes I'm thinking, and dreaming, of you Oh darling, thinking, and dreaming, of you
The song is let down by the arrangement. The intro sounds like a canned Band-In-The-Box piece, and when the piano comes in, it starts to turn into a 50's Jerry Lee/Fats Domino number. I'd scrap the whole thing and start over, beginning with the drums. Keep the tempo, but make the percussion less 'busy'. Stay away from the doo-wop piano altogether. Imagine a bar band that's into classic rock and country, playing this as the last song of a long night, while the bar staff start clearing up at closing time. It's that world-weary sound that you're looking for, I think.

Hmmmmm, could put more thought into it. Funny, lyrics were a total of 30 minutes. I actually used the canned EZkey patterns that came with the plugin. Not too much flexibility there but I did actually drag and drop the samples as a creation instead of keyed in like BIAB. But, actually, it is all very close to the same sort of thing.
I might put some more into it. I just don't know if much will evolve from it. Thanks again for the suggestions.

As it stands now, it's an effective demo showing the progression with the melody, etc. And that's fine. If you don't want to go any further, at least you have that. But if you wanted to, I'd suggest working out a drum track, then add in your own guitar, maybe some light keys, then bass, a bit of lead, then the vocal. Give it a real bar-band vibe.

Sounds like a plan Mike. I'm going to give it more thought.

I worked on the song today. I will probably redo vocals one more time and it doesn't have a bass track yet.

Yes, definitely. I'll definitely send you the L/R tracks for import (if that was a "Yes")

Downloaded the file. I'll load it up and see what happens. Can you give me a quick chord rundown?

Stan,
I've listened to the file; can you send me the individual .wav files for the drum, guitar and vocal tracks?

Hi Mike. I redid vocal tracks. Did you want all of the project's wav files? Example: there are 3 guitar tracks, 3 vocal tracks, and stereo drum track in the project. These can be submixed, like all vocal tracks as one wav, with or without FX.. etc. Just let me know the specifics and I will send them to you. I also have a screenshot of the chords. Here they are: Attachments:

Submixes of the vocal and guitar tracks are fine. What I'm really after is a mix without the piano and strings. A stereo mix without those parts would be okay as well.
