Here is your typical "two-minute pop song", partly inspired by many early Beatles singles, and also "That Thing You Do" by the Wonders. Drums are via BIAB, and I'm playing everything else. I've bit the bullet on this one and after a few attempts to mix in the TASCAM DP32-SD, ended up mixing it entirely in Cubase (except for some trimming & compression in Audacity). Uploading it has introduced some 'flubber' (mainly in the rhythm guitar) which isn't in the 24-bit master .wav file or the .mp3 reduction.

Note that I keep trying to call it "Set Me Free" for some reason. I'll change the links later.

I liked the clean guitar sound and mid-60s feel on this. Your vocals and harmony were very good as well. You only get better with time Mike. The drums seemed OK but I think I could improve on them with all the bells and whistles I have available now but BIAB at least keeps you in time. Nice song, and sorry I missed the post. I have to admit I don't come by and visit as much anymore.

I didn't think you had missed it on purpose, Stan. I come by every day, but then I have to, I suppose.
I admit that I struggle with drums; hearing them by themselves it's clear how slapdash they are, but they suffice. I wouldn't want them to overpower the rest of the instruments. Over time I'll probably invest in more BIAB styles, because I much prefer the real drums over the MIDI ones.
Last night I bought my first VST plugin, a vocal processor. So I may be doing more Cubase mixing in the future.

I still have my Art vocal processor (hardware) and then run it through plugins after a dry take. Your drums weren't bad at all. I have Superior Drummer (I think Cam does too, and they sound real to me)...

Hey Guys!
Been too long! I really dig this Mike, really fun song. I definitely hear those influences too. I agree with Stan the Drums aren't bad at all... Yep superior Drummer from tune track for me, with the Music City Expansion which is amazing. EZ Drummer is a good way to go as well.
Thanks for sharing this Mike, I enjoyed the listen!
