Mike wrote an amazing song some months ago called The Truth in Anyway. I fell in love with the song instantly. It felt like a song that would lend itself well to my particular musical talents and I had some creative ideas for it right away. I asked Mike in his original thread if he would be ok if I took a crack at covering it and he was gracious in giving me his song tracks to work with. This version of The Truth in Any Way has Mike's original bass, acoustic guitar and Arpeggiated Electric Guitar parts. Mike's recordings and performances were so well done that editing them was a breeze. The bass tone and playing was unbelievable and such a pleasure to arrange around that core part of the track.
I sang on this version as well as adding organ, a different piano part and additional E. Gtrs. I also programmed drums for it as well.
I thank Mike for writing a song with so much feeling and being so gracious in having me reinterpret his work. It was a very rewarding experience.
Stan I'm pleased you like it. I've told Cameron how humbling it is to have someone cover one of my songs, and to have made such an excellent job of it. I've sent the link to a number of people I know, and they've all responded with very positive comments about it. It's amazing to hear what he's done, and I feel very much like a proud grandfather. I know it veers close to blowing my own horn to go on about it, but I really think it's fantastic. I've never had a cover version before, and it's simply great.
