I'm a friend of Tom's on Facebook and we message each other from time to time. He is still writing & recording music at a high level. He let me play the outro solo at the end of his song he just finished. It has a relative message to today's world and the political & social struggles that never seem to change from decade to decade. www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=13979203

Having had to retrieve my password ….. for NOT the first time….
Thanks for posting the mix Stan.
Recording details:
Instrumental tracks - 6 Stereo drums my nephew Charlie on the Roland elec drums Bass Tom Rhythm guitar Tom Solo Tom Solo Stan (gracias mi amigo!! Well done. A nice exclamation point on my sociopolitical diatribe.)
Vocal Tracks - I put off re-recording the vocals for months but after I did, I sent two dry vocal tracks to Stan so he could do some processing on them. I also sent him an instruments-only mix. He then processed the vocals and mixed the results into my instrumental mix to get what you hear now. He can tell you what he did to the vocals. The sound pretty OK to me, considering the singer.
Thanks so much Stan for helping me finish this song.

Those drums set the mood and sound fantastic! Vocals sound excellent. It all fits well and mixes well before I ever came into the picture. I enjoyed playing a lead part again given the opportunity. It's been a long time. I actually didn't like the outro and was going to redo when you told me not to. Now, I'm more use to it.. Got the Wah pedal out in overdrive but never pushed down; if you are wondering why the lead sounds the way it does.
Nothing not to like about it. Loaded in my MP3 player for the truck audio.

Wow, nice tune! Everyone is to be commended for what they've all brought to the table. Clean, tight recording. Excellent tune, Tom. Stan - what can I say? You're not the man for nothing.

Tom's song was well written and well recorded. I loved it from the start. So give Tom 99% of the credit on this one. I always have fun with collaborations long or short. Sometimes it seems magical.

Thanks for the kudos Mike. This song was a long time project, and Stan's solo and other help at the end brought it all together. I hope he knows that I won't hesitate to ask for similar help in the future.

I don't play guitar much anymore but still love getting back into the studio whenever I have a reason. I have lots of good tools accumulated which my wife wishes I had never spent our money on. Those tools sit there unused now so anytime I can tweak some plugins and experiment with a mix its still lots of fun.
Ask anytime Tom.

Stan -- on the outro --- I don't know about you, but anytime I can get through 16 bars of soloing without a serious (e.g. out of tune) flub, I take it and run. Once I put a little EQ on your track so that the notes sounded more pronounced, as you say, what's there is good. The style is pure Stan and contrasts nicely with mine, just as it did when you provided an outro for American Dream a while back. I find my self starting to sing along with your solo, just as I do with American when I listen to it while riding down the road in my truck. We make a good team. Maybe we'll be stars someday

Thanks for the complements Tom. They are far & in between these days.
However, my back goes out about 5 minutes after strapping on a heavy Les Paul; so... So much for any future road gigs.
And, Mike, we definitely promise too; however a Grammy trophy might be a bit heavy also.

I have both. In fact, too many guitars and most need new strings and playing time. Really wish I had a Tele if you want to know the truth

I never could get the hang or patience to write songs. If they were'nt done in 2 days I lost interest. However, I've always loved to do collaborations with far better satisfaction. I was glad Tom suggested I finish it. I ask him for a do over but he said what I did was fine.
Thanks for listening Cameron and really nice hearing from you!
