Hey Guys ;D Well as you can tell I wrote a new song and recorded it. Its called Perfect as Can Be. Heres the adress as always www.soundclick.com/bands/8/latmatmusic.htmI'd Apreciate any comments or suggestions guys. I found this song quite ironic recording. Its a song about it being ok not to be perfect. Then there's me being all mad cause I cant get it perfect. Anyways hope you all like Cameron

lat"power ballad"mat strikes again!!
dont forget to eat!
another good one. theres one point where electric comes in thats seems a bit too abrubt.. sounds good, good appropriate to the genre solo.. hey are you micing your guitar? it sounds sorta :"direct" if you know what i mean.. but then maybe thats how y9ou have it setup im not sure.. its an 80s sound. not necessarily bad..

Hey Matt I assume your talking about the electric. Im plugged into my digitech, then from there into the guitar input set on line. So it pretty much straight into the ps5. Yes I'm using a classic 80's kinda sound. But thats just the best distortion I can get at this point. I got bad g.a.s matt, so much stuff I need or want

digitech makes great stuff... my next mulieffects will be that or a boss unit again.. i have an old boss ME somebody's trying to fix for me, and a korg toneworks which has a few effects that are good.. i love that "all in one box thing" .. even if ya cant get all of em sounding great. the only way top clear up the gas is to let it out. ahem...

lol
The only Real reason I need a better effect unit, is because I have the little rp50 which doesnt have any 'stomps' like in this latest song theres little pause's in between the effect change thats me scrolling through the effects lol. If i had got the rp 250 ithink it is it wouldnt have that problem. I plan on aleviating my G.A.S problem soon. ;D

Cameron this is Great.
You have this song writing thing wrapped up.
The only thing I think i could ask for is that you rerecord it after you have played it for a couple of weeks. I think the vocal is great, but i think that you could make it perfect (!) just by singing it over and over again for a week or two.
great job. Rob

Hey Thanks guys Yea I agree with you rob. I write and record at the same time so the amount of practice I have playing/ singing the song is about 2 hours when Im done. Then I do about 5 takes for singing. Really I should have my performance down perfectly before even trying to record but I realize this is just a 'Draft' anyways. Someday I plan on taking my best songs and doing some real polished recordings of them. I think my writing style is abit different then normal peoples. Thats really the beauty of the PS5 to me. Is how much it helps me to just write a song. Thanks for the compliments and advice. Feel free to add anything else all you other people out there. Cameron P.s. I am now a chart topping member

I agree with Matt, that the guitar coming in on the solo is a bit much. I like the riffs in the second verse, but the guitar drowns out the vocal in the bridge. Someday you're gonna have to do a song like this and leave me a track to add a string part. Phew!

Hey Mike Yea the guitar is probally alittle loud. I know what your saying about the bridge. I was trying to create sort of a harmony type thing between the vocal and guitar. I wanted the vocal to be kind of behind the guitar. But I do think I went a little to quiet and did not aquire the desired effect that I was trying to achieve. Yea definetly, that would be great if youd like to do some strings on one of my songs/future songs. Then You could work some of your magic mixing it. ;D Thanks Cameron

Let me just clarify a few points anyone who read my comments and thought them a bit harsh - I've been listening to Cam's work since the get-go, and I am a little more critical because he's very talented, and wouldn't benefit from too much sugarcoating. It's great for me to watch his ability blossom, even if I have to coax it a little sometimes. When he feels comfortable with the PS5's edit features, and takes his time with a song, it'll be amazing. It's the same attitude that Cam showed in turn (along with others) to get Matt to remix and rework Driving Home to make it even better. All of us are aware of our own musical shortcomings, whatever they are. Honest feedback should encourage, not discourage. Even if it's a genre you don't normally listen to, there are always good things to be highlighted, and critical areas that can be focused on. Not that I don't feel everyone is supportive in this forum; I'm just pointing out that someone who's had their PS5 a week won't get the same comments that someone who's been recording for a year will get. So no one should feel intimidated or worried about sharing their music with the group at large. Nobody here was born knowing the difference between a dynamic and a condenser.

thought them a bit harsh - meany! Nobody here was born knowing the difference between a dynamic and a condenser. Ya know you just made me realize i DIDN'T when i started with you guys this summer.. and now not only do i know the difference but have learned a lot more about the different TYPES of concensers (and am in the process of trying them all, yes all) etc etc.. yea you can learn alot here.. hey whos that with the beatles shirt?! that looks kinda like.. no.. it couldnt be! omagosh it is!

Hey Every one thanks alot. Hey Gamma thanks for listening. Just curious which one was your favorite? I appreciate the constructive critism. Even when I Ignore it, it gets shoved into my brain and is kept in mind every time I use the PS5. Just wish I could get more of it. ;D I remember my first song. I think my timing has improved a ton just in this short time. Thanks to mike for telling me it straight. Well with a little sugarcoating cause I was new. Thanks for the Comments guys Cameron

You and Matt are songwriting machines! I've never seen someone pump out as many songs as you do.
Your latest shows maturity, as your arrangements become more complex. Song construction was well done, and the guitars seemed solid, although overwhelming at times. Vocals could have been brought up in the mix, but that may be a personal preference of mine. A couple other times, it sounded like the guitar inputs were peaking the meters.
Another solid attempt, latmat.
