Hey Cameron! I also assumed that you would sing. I'll work on the instrument tracks and post the file for you to pick up. As I said, it'll probably be this weekend -- more specifically, probably Sunday. Looks like I'll be busy with Christmas decorations Saturday. Charlie

Hey Cameron!
Arrrgh! I'm having to re-learn the bass part practically from scratch, so I'll need another day or two. Amazing how fast I can forget some things... er.. what was I talking about?

OK, Cameron, thanks for bearing with me.
I have a decent bass track recorded and a midi percussion track. I'd like to take another run at my rhythm guitar track tomorrow night. It's a little uneven volume-wise. So look for my post close to midnight Eastern time tomorrow night.
I may record a test track of my lead guitar solo if I have time. I won't finalize it, though, until I get the file back from you.

Hey Cameron! I've got it! I uploaded the PS5 files to mmm's ftp site /groupshare/Group originals/Almost Winter I've deleted the previous takes, so it's the only one out there. Track 2 is empty and ready for your vocal. Start with the sliders for trk 1 one mark below :::: and tracks 3, 4, TG, and master at ::::. I raise trk 1 to the mark above the :::: for the verse 4 solo, then back to a mark below for the refrain. I've also posted the updated mp3 to: www.soundclick.com/bands/6/objecksprojecksmusic.htmLooking forward to your vocal!! Charlie

Sweet sounds awesome. Ill get to it as soon as I can. Do you want me to do the final mix ? Or did you want to go back and add any fills during the spaces in my vocal not that that really needed. Ill put the final versoin ps5 file on the server so you can back it up too If you want. Great job on the drums sounds real good.

I agree that it sounds more like a Santana tune than The Monkees. And, no, it doesn't sound like you are copying any tune I've heard before. You have lyrics?

Hey Cameron! Great! I'll do the final mixdown -- may still try some additional midi instruments, although the sound is reasonably full as is. The bare bones backing is reminiscent of the bare trees of late autumn. Havin' Fun, thanks for the plagiarism assessment! Cameron has written lyrics and will sing. I am honored to be his first collab partner! Charlie

Carlitos and Cameron,
I hadn't had time to listen to the song and follow the thread.
Very nice song Charlie. The guitar solo is very good and you have a smart ending. The overall rithm is quite nice (I didn't know you had a feeling for Santana).
Cameron, very nice lyrics. I still have to hear you sing it.
I'll be listening.

Hey, are you guys going to have this song done anytime soon, or are you going to have to rename it, "Almost Spring"? ;D

;D I know what you mean. I've had cedar fever for the past week. If I were to sing now, it would sound like I had a clothes pin stuck on my nose.

Actually, we're just planning ahead. I was looking forward to a spectacular release in Australia five months from now! ;D
