Hey Intresting lyrics. I think the bass is good where it is. I think in a song like this you dont want to be too bass heavy. I can hear all the lines great. Good Job

thanks cameron, im starting to get to the rythm section i hear in my brain, few more yrs and ill have it! im still tweaking, almost done.. decided its too compressed doing an uncompressed version as i got it all pretty good on the recording side.. also adding another chorus who can resist?! cut some lead gtr volume in a spot and just about done i just need to delete a bad bassnote at the end where theres the pseudo jazz jam and then it'll almost about sounding like i know what im doing . id like to thank aaron for poiting out tube preamps which made me (logically??) start thinking about tube compressors...

All things I said before just alittle more accurate. My big speakers are playing its differently than the small ones up stairs. SO Im not sure about the mix. Have to listen on the other speakers. But sounds really good. Is that a real bass or is it your synth thingy?

i know what you mean.. ive taken to listening on 3 sets of speakers . the synth thingy: this is the package i have though mines from 97, its not new at all. www.kellyindustries.com/guitars/roland_gr30.html note the extra buttons etc on the strat.. makes it easy (instead of mounting the pickup on an existing gtr but thats easily done too i did it before this one on a tele) plus its a great sounding american standard strat in itself. the writup on that page stinks but at least its got the pic. godin makes some guitars that are nice with the same roland pickup built in. its very versatile as i'll drive (the gk-2a pickup) lots of varying products from roland. a new one i just recently notced: a midi trigger (the synth already does it but you lose the fast tracking/response when you start triggertring midi, i am assuming this new thing compensates and thats what its about.. ) im using it more now than ever for the basses.. also all sounds in last song were from it (the makin music thing) i really tried to spend more time on the bass for a change as i realized i been minimizing it in the mix and that doesnt help. i dont think the kbs are too loud are they ? i just wanted a LITTLE more depth but didnt want to detract from the basic acoustic guitar / "acoustic" bass /drums rythm of the song.

Man that thing is crazy. To techy for me. I just rather have the real thing. But the quality is still amazing. It would take a very keen ear to notice the difference between a real bass and your synth thingy. I guess the thing that turns me off is that you have have all these fancy roland midi Pick-ups. But they would come in real handy, like Transcribing scores for guitar music and what not.

heres some better pics with other gtrs. the roland and godins (checkout the multiac its nice) have em built in. theres also the newer synths which have a few more things. www.vg-8.com/guitars/viewtry em out in a music store sometime its quite something. afaik the pikup hasnt changed in yrs which is cool. i upgraded my sythn after 6 mos the first time around after they came outr (no pickup upgrade req'd) with the new one back then as it had twice the number of sounds plus ability to use expression pedal. it stinks how expensive they were back then... anyhow..
