T'was a good day today - finished this track (and uploaded to Sound Click), and finished the music to another (need to get some lyrics going for that one). There is a third new one in the works, but I'm battling the vocals on that one. Speaking of vocals, fans of Mark Knopfler might like this piece. His was one of the very few voices I could reasonably get away with if we played at a party or function where we had to do some *GASP* covers! The new one's called "Another Day", and the link to the page is here: www.soundclick.com/bands/6/ballsagainstthewallmusic.htmHope you enjoy! Bob

Bob, I'm not able to stream this at lo-fi. See if it works for you. I tried the next song on your list and it was okay.

Hi Mike, Hmmm....something must have happened with the initial upload - I do recall noticing that their progress bar didn't seem to increment as it usually does, but then it said it was encoding the lo-fi version. In any case, I've updated the song on the Sound Click site, and then tested the lo-fi to insure it streams properly. Thanks for the heads-up! Bob

Yeah, that's better. . .
Boy, you weren't kidding about sounding like Knofler, were you? The backing reminds me a bit of 'Radioactive' by that band Jimmy Page had for awhile (no, not that band!).
Sounds okay, I think the drums in the choruses are a little frantic, but otherwise I didn't hear anything really objectionable. A nice album track.

Hi Mike, Thanks - I'm chuckling here at your reference to "that band"! The "other" band Page was involved with was called The Firm, as I recall, and Radioactive was something of a one hit wonder for them. It sure does remind me of Knopfler (if only I could PLAY like he does!!!) as well. I just finished uploading the final mix - I first bounced the four original tracks to 2, then added an additional guitar for contrast - the two original guitar tracks were actually one track doubled and slightly delayed. This one adds some fills here and there. Now I need to move on to the other two that are in the works. Gotta love this little PS5! Thanks, Bob

Thanks Jim! That line just came out of nowhere as I was sitting with pen and pad in hand...love it when that happens!

Great playing man, very impressive.
I think the vocal could have been a little louder in the mix but its not bad. Good song Idea.
Keep it up, the bass work is awesome.

Hi Cameron,
Thanks very much - the bass is, and will always be my primary instrument, and so I'm very gratified when someone enjoys the noise I make with it! You're right about the vocals - I thought I had the levels set relative to each other before I did the single bounce (in order to make room for the final guitar track), but they did blend as a result of that bounce. I don't bounce often, so I'd say I need a bit more practice in that area to better "know" how it will sound relative to the track settings. It's great that you can make music, have a good time in the process, yet learn as you go - this PS5 is proving to be the best "instrument" choice I've made since 1969! Thanks, Bob

Thanks a lot guys - as you've pointed out, the vocals got lost in the mix, so there's a remix in the works to correct that, but I'm really glad you like it! Bob

OK - the remix is finished, and the vocals (such as they are) are in the forefront, as they should be!

Hey Bob,
I finally got a chance to listen. Really nice song.
I agree with the bass comments by Cam. It sounds really good and so does the lead guitar.
Congratulations!
