ok now if somebody could help me pick a soundclick category i was at a loss. . i think i picked "classic rock" or something.. on my soundlclick page its called street singer www.soundclick.com/mattlthis is that instrumental evolved (as id intended actually).. this is the subject matter that popped into my head from one verse id ewritten previously about god knows what.. then the music made me think of this guy i know.. any mixing comments welcome its late and i am sorta kickin it out the door.. i mixed vocals low purposly hear i was sorta hoping that would help let the music do the talking.. uh.. yea something like that intersting note: when micing the bassdrum one of the key things ive been doing is BOOSTING 80hz (at record time on that mic). i noticed i could get the drumtrack here to have less peaks thus enabling me to go higher volume on the drumtrack by LOWERING 80hz!! yet it sounds essentially the same its confusing.. well whatever i think it still has a decent thump on soundclick: or my site http:/www.soundclick.com/mattl

First it was Accidental Grunge, now it's Trudging Trance. What's next? Call me when you get to Dixieland Punk.
Very atmospheric, well-played. Don't know what kind of lyrics you could fit to this, maybe just keep it as a moody instrumental.

heres where the schooled musicians laugh.. this started as a love song to my wife. needless to say i had enough insight to scrap THAT idea.. thanks for comments i intend to do a little more with it. a wondferful thing has happened.. i have all these lyrics scraps here and there.. maybe something will work. who woulda thought a year ago i had no song lyrics well if its any consolation i strongly dislike country and opera so you wont hear that from me.. fiiiiiiiiigaro! well.. maybe as a joke.

So we won't see you on stage anytime soon at the Grand Ol' Opry? Side joke: What happens when you play a country song backwards? The dog comes back to life, your girl returns to you, and the truck starts.

Hey Matt! Listening to both "Street Singer" and "Accidental Grunge" ... You've come up with some very interesting musical arrangements, and you're delving into some deep and scary places in terms of musical atmosphere. I heard hints of that earlier with songs like "Fog So Thick" and "BA." I like them all! One suggestion you might consider as you write new songs is to vary the vocal part a bit more. Be bold! Expand that vocal range! There's life beyond the root notes! Great mix! Your drumming gets stronger with each song, and your use of synth is very effective in creating your atmospheric landscapes. Matt,
Really good song & sound that really carries. You have a dinstinct and clear voice but you still remind me a lot of Neil Young in his better days. Neil seemed to be pretty diverse about his musical arrangements, and at times a little scary (not afraid to go out on the ledge)
I forgot which song & which album but it started with Neil saying: "This is going to be experimental," and one of his band members then echoed "but good though." So I'll just say the same, your song was ;)experimental, but good though.

im always trying to understand how your music makes me feel. strange, yeah, but quite often it makes me feel so serene and relaxed. its like you get inside the music and play it from within.
never know where its going to go, matt...even after a few listens of anything you do, i still feel that theres a chance that something else is going to happen in the track. your songs are almost alive, feels like they have the ability to change there destiny. i get the same feeling from "the verve" . both you and richard ashcroft make me feel like i have just had a two hour massage. so serene. you really are the most creative musician that i know personally...ermm well i mean internet-ly.
thanks.
