Strictly speaking, I shouldn't mention this song, since it was recorded on the 788. But it does feature PS5 drums and guitar effects, so here it is. www.soundclick.com/bands/7/michaelcarpentermusic.htmAbout the the eighth song down. There's a lot I could say about this particular tune, but I'll just mention I've done a lot of work on this recording off and on over the past two months (recording started March 16th).

Hey Mike, Good job on the harmonies, the ending where harmonies really start comin strong is my fav. part of the song. Very country western almost not really in instrumentation but in form how it takes so long to really get to the punch line/hook but I tell yah once it got there I wasnt left dissapointed Good job, Cameron

I think Mike snuck his friend George Jones in to do the harmony track (not fair!)
The song also carried away after it ended, and it reminds me of an ole' country waltz with good down-to-earth lyrics, and soothing instrumental balance.
If only you added a steel-guitar track they would love it in Tulsa and Stillwater Oklahoma! Not something I would have expected from you Mike, but pleasantly suprised.

Thanks, everyone. I really worked away on this one. I don't normally do country, but there it is. Harmonies were a bear. Stan, I actually did try to play a fiddle track (I have a violin, but never learned to play it properly). One take convinced me I was smoking crack or something.

Nice country, Mike! Is there a particular reason you recorded it on your 788 instead of the PS5 ?

I guess the main reason is the extra tracks. If we discount the drums as they're pattern files, the remainder of the recording was seven tracks (bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, lead vocal, 2 backing vocals). I can't see a way to fit all that in without doing more than one bounce per track, which would degrade the sound quality too much. Plus the fact I hadn't used the 788 in awhile. The last song I did (My Cathedral) was done on the PS5, as well as a recent spate of collab work.

At least you're using all Tascam gear, and not some off brand like a... should I say it... Fostex.
Cool country, Mike. I didn't think a boy from Florida, transplated to England, had any country left in him. ;D
