Spike, Has a catchy feel to it but w/o lyrics it could go in a hundred different directions. What kind of drum pattern was that? Sounded pretty cool..
This seems to be a good playground for a bass. You might want to see if a bass player could throw in a few good runs to enhance its mood. Just something that came to mind while I was listening to the first 2 tracks.
Interested to see how it turns out. Stan

I liked it more and more as it went along. Nice overuse of phase on the guitar. A bit different from your other posted material.

Heavy sound ! Has a Led'ish feel from the "Presence" era . I like the use of the drum pattern...

The Bass is actually my Strat (won't mention it's a Squire ) using the octivisor effect with the effect balanced to the low octive side. So that riff is me Jeff

members.cox.net/spike-strider/Trail_of_Tears0.4.MP3No Name is now Trail of Tears V.4 Added beginnings of lead hook during chorus. fooled around with lead during verses.. Lyrics finished, but not added. Ended up on the lyrics waaay away from where I started. feedback on how the parts fit together is most welcome.. all parts will be recorded after this.. rough mix at this point. Jeff

Yea Jeff. That's putting in some good low-end. My vision was more a fluent bass with a variation of runs vs. power chord repetition. The fact that you did it with a Squire shows your inovation skills. I too have a cheap Strat which I hope to soon get replaced. The fact that you didn't see my vision is good. If you would have read my mind then that is really scary! Interested in the final result. Stan

Thanks Stan.. fluency is something I don't have much of , but I do think the bass line works pretty well. Version V.5 Rough Mix Added rough Vocals (ouch!) to test lyrics. No real melody yet.. I think everything fits pretty well as a package Everything will get re-recorded from scratch at this point to clean up tech rough spots. The plan is (I think this is how you all recommend the bounce) PS5 Drums track 1/2 -flanged rythem guitar (Squire) T 3 -Bass line (octivised Squire) t4 -lead hook during chorus ('63 Gretch) bounce T3/4 to stereo mix with 1/2 add -T3 Vocals T4 -Lead ('63 Gretch)
