Hi! I wrote this song last night. I'm not sure about the title yet, but so far I call it "Stardust" I recorder it on my PS5 30min ago. Once again I plugged in my old Gretsch and recordet a track, then afterwards i recorded the vocal with the headset. I used the guitareffect: "Mellow"(AGTR) On the mixdown i added a bit reverb and and some lowgain. I'm looking forward to your reaction on this one!! This has a nice stark quality to it, but I'd also like to hear this with a band behind you. Recording-wise, some of the bass notes were a bit loud compared to the vocal, but the whole thing is sort of low in volume (common to new users). Once again, good vocal. I like the construction of this song as well. I'd really urge you to start exploring the way the PS5's built-in patterns can provide you with some backing. Even with just drums, it would be a great addition to your sound. Not that this is bad, no not at all.

mcarp555! Glad you like it.. I would like to play the song with a band or at least some drums, but I'm not really into programmed drums and chord-patterns, but I must admit I havent tried out the PS5's built-in patterns yet. I might try to make a new better recording later, cause you right that the volume is kinda low in this mixdown.

this another great song. you know i think it works as it is without the rest of the band. and i think i know what you mean about the patterns...you dont really want it to confine you...your style really does sound like it comes from deep within. great stuff. i noticed a little bit of a coldplay influence here...which is a damn good thing!

Rob, you can add reverb at mixdown, but you can't add any of the FX1/FX2 effects after the fact. Those have to go on the track live. In fact, while you can add reverb while laying down the track, it only goes into the headphones, not on the track itself. So FX1/2 during recording, reverb during mixdown.

Thanks a lot Rob I appreciate!! Yes I dont like these patterns to confine me! And i dont think it will fit my stile at all. I like REAL drums, not programmed.. Coldplay Well maybe a little.. I like Coldplay, but I'm much more inspired by other artist like Jeff Buckley and Radiohead... You asked how to add effects on the mixdown. It's very simple: Press the "menu" button. Then you can select to adjust in for example the"reverb" or the "EQ" menu. You can make these settings before and along the mixdown. Simply go into the menu and ajust while mixdown. Just play around and you will find out it's pretty easy.

nice song.. do you record with the metronome? if you have any interest in collaborating w/folks here (its a blast!) you may want to start playin to a metronome (just happens to be built into the ps5). i just started doing that myself about a yr ago when i got my ps5 and it helps all around as well as keeping the door open to someone adding real drums

Mattl, I just found out by myself how how the metronome works, so you dont have to answer that question.

Rob, no you can't add FX while bouncing because the FX units are part of the signal pathway from the inputs. Bouncing happens "deeper" in the machine. Eyeball the signal diagram and you'll see it.

very nice feel to this one... I agree that patterns would not be good on this one.. but Patterns have their uses in the absence of live drums..
