I did a first cut at "Wonderful Tonight" but had to quit trying on vocals because of a 4 yr. old staying at the house. Lots of jugling, lots of fun.. If anyone likes the guitar tracks they might want to replace my vocals on T3 and T4. It is posted at: www.soundclick.com/bands/6/leftbrainedmusic.htm

Stan, It's always great to hear your voice not buried under a ton of effects. I think doubling up the vocal is good as well. Two things to consider with this version: 1. It seems a mite fast. I may not remember Eric's version exactly, but doesn't he do it a bit slower? But it's possible without drums it may suffer if you play it at his tempo. 2. You've nailed the lick, but I think a lot more reverb would ease it back into the mix a lot better. It really jumps out at you the first time, and kinda stays out there throughout.

Thanks Mike for the tips. Yea, I'm pretty bad about speeding things up. When I first started recording it was much worse... I'd start at a certain tempo and by the end of the song I've almost double the speed. Without drums I tend to get lost in my own tempo groove; not realizing I'm gradually increasing speed.. At least on "Stairway" I was using someone else's speeded up MIDI backing. Thanks for the tips. I need to practice more acoustic-style songs and figure out a better mixing strategy. Stan

As with many Windows based applications, their Cold Fusion server gradually produces memory leaks which needs a total reboot. If they have clustered servers, which most probably do, there probably a lengthy reinit to get things sync'ed up and going again.
I've hit Sound Click several times when this happens. Thanks for trying.

Well I once was a Unix admin but it was back around 1992... Since then I have seen Windows O.S.s evolve into inefficient resource hogs; but it is almost always the development machine due to tool cost, availability, etc. MS has also left (now known) ports open so that Miscrosoft's updates as well as savy hackers viruses can flow into critical parts of our system and play havoc. Their auto-updates are such a blessing. They frequently update us with security patches to protect us from this pandora's box they were responisble for opening. Microsoft introduced VBA (visual basic for applications) which allows you to write sophesticated VB macros inside any Microsoft product: MS word, Xcel, Power Point, Outlook... A simple VB macro tied to the "Open" action of any MS document can invoke any other MS app you have from within the script..... like flood Outlook with hundreds of mails..... Anyway, yea, I wish Unix would have remained the server of choice of remote client/server relationships, but the damage has already been done. Better all get your firewalls setup or you'll be sorry. Hey stan,
This is pretty good, I think the vocal could be eq'ed a bit sound a little too bassy, and some reverb could really tie this thing together...
Good job stan, actually I am veryimpressed with this cover, lots of passion, the performance came through real strong. Just great, awesome job!
