Hi!! I played and recorded this Radiohead song a while ago. I think about uploading it to my soundclick site, but is that really legal?? What about copyright and stuff? Peter

Damm.... Would really have liked to upload some covers. But what about all these other cover songs people are uploading? (Like "Day Tripper" and "Wonderful Tonight") People just do it anyway ore what?? Glad you like my tagline Mattl I love it!!!! It's a poem by a guy who I think was the greatest singer EVER!!!!! ;D A true musical genius if you ask me.
Jeff Buckley: New Year's Eve Prayer You my love are allowed to forget about the christmas you just spent stressed out in your parents house
You my love are allowed to shed the weight of all the years before like bad disco clothes, save them for a night of dancing, stoned with you lover
You my love are allowed to let yourself drown every night in bottomless wild and naked symbolic dreams
You my love in sleep can unlock your youth and your most terrifying magic and dreaming is for the courageous
You my love are allowed to grab my guitar and sing me idiot love songs if you lost your ability to speak, keep it down to two minutes
You my love are allowed to rot and to die and to live again more alive and incandescent than before
You my love are allowed to beat the shit out of your television, choke it's thoughts and corrupt its mind kill kill kill kill the motherfucker before the song of zombiefied pain and panic and malaise and its narrow right winged vision and its cheap commercial gang rate becomes the white noise of the world (turn about is fair play)
You my love are allowed to forgive and love your television
You my love are allowed to speak in kisses to those around you and those up in heaven
You my love are allowed to show your babies how to dance full bodied, starry eyed, audacious, supernatural and glorified
You my love are allowed to suck in every single endeavor
You my love are allowed to be soaked like a lovers blanket in the New York summertime with the wonder of your own special gift
You my love are allowed to receive praise
You my love are allowed to have time
You my love are allowed to understand
You my love are allowed to love
Woman disobey
Little man believe
You my love are a rebellion.

Personally I dont, but recording covers just doesnt appeal to myself. If you do upload to soundclick keep the covers off the charts, thats the one thing that royally Pisses them soundclickers off.
Charts are a joke if yopu ask me though but some people really take that seriously!
anywho just have fun, its not like your making money off this!

yes that true cam.. i do the same thing i put up a cover and just didnt put it on the charts .. the chances of onea of us getting in trouble for posting a cover that nobody is making any money off of it probablty just about 0. but that just my opinion

I guess my opinion of covers is not to promote music but rather to give a familiarity with an existing song for practice and to get you more familiar with professional music, sound effects, mixing, etc.
Many people like something they are familiar with and tend not to fully accept original songs until they've heard it several times (songs take time to grow on listeners)
I love hearing original music posts, and respect them a lot more because it takes extra effort and talent. But, covers are fun and fairly easy to put together.
I've done well over 100 covers, (many never posted for good reason), since I've got the PS5 and probably only wrote about 20 songs.
Covers are a common base of comparison that someone can listen to if they like the original, and are great for collaborations because most of us know the classics.
Music recording is a hobby for 99% of us and costs money for good equipment. To say we are going to make money off of this applies to the other 1%. It is an investment, not a revenue generator.

I just hope nobody "narcs" on the upcoming Funstock event and the fact that we'll be covering three Beatles tunes. Last thing I want to see is Jacko's shiny nose through the peephole in my door!

I don't think you need a performance licence since this is basically a private event. Wacko, BTW, sold half his interest in the Fab's catalog to Sony Music some years ago. That's why they didn't promote his last album, to bankrupt him so he'd be forced to sell the remainder of his interest in the songs to them. MJ had this to say about Tommy Mottola, the head of Sony Music (and Mariah Carey's ex-husband): "He's very, very, very, very devilish."
