Did one just to see what the new guitar sounds like on the PS5. I found part of the chords for Sultans of Swing tonight and decided to try it but it wound up pretty sloppy. Phases were way off, and the lead was pretty messy. Well, you get what you put into something I guess. I try it again sometime when I learn how to play it all the way through. P.S. - I have a seperate sound click page that is basically reserved just for cover songs. If they decide to close the account, ain't no big deal. Just my tirals and errors. Stan

Matt, Very astute observation! I use to think I was "Guitar George" (except for the part about knowing all the chords). All I had were cheap guitars. Now that I have a good quality guitar my goal is to be more like "Harry." No more excuses...No shield to hide behind Batman...it is no longer the guitar's fault. Can't blame it on the $100 Arbor. Oh yeah, effects: I did a straight line-out from my tube amp into the PS5 for rythumn guitar, and used the "Swing" guitar effect on the PS5 for the lead. Don't remember which of the 10 switches on the Fender I used.... love to dial, push knobs, flip switches without remembering of what I actually did. I felt the the Strat actually sounds like a Strat. I good project just to hear the Stratocaster caster-out its stuff. I'm sure you didn't hear anything bad from this flawless performance? Stan

i thought it was mark knoppfler!! really! sure id say its got a strat sound.. though i think its probably better not direct but coming outta the amp w/a mic (maybe in combo w/the direct signal mixed in too! ) seriosly.. youre turn: i did this this afternoon/evening.. i cant decide what the heck i dont like about it. .everything?!? its another rush job..like most of my songs from 6 mos ago.. has "parts" that are good.. perhaps the whole thing would come together better with drum retakes to fix all the screwups. thoughts on that ? on soundlcick its not in charts its called evening jam,

Good idea. I've mic direct before, but since this was a 2 hr. project messing up the room with mics on the floor etc. was going a little overboard Seriously, I'll give that a try... See, now my excuse is not the guitar, its my valuable time. P.S. - I bet Mark praticed this more than I did, so I must be doing something right if I sound just like him.. Stan

well i can relate.. a little different (i spend more time) but nonetheless the same problem.. sometimes i have limited time or im frustrated and want to move on.. so i DO .. whether it sucks or not.. i figure in the end all the practice is still helping but its frustrating sometimes knoing i could do better.. BUT : at least you got 2 hrs of playing in instead of none because of the excuse.. o h i didnt have time to setup the mics.

Hey Matt, I liked your last night's Jam post... Next time invite Ravi's shankar and Ian Anderson for a full-stage effect. Wish I would have been there but I was at my own jam session. Sounds like yours might have been a little more experimental and fun. Stan
