I tried the S1 switch on my Fender for the first time. Did a Jimi Hendrix classic this time with no guitar effect; straight into the PS5. Did Mike's delay copy strategy by marking a '2' instead of a '1' delay. Did the same on the vocals for a total of 2 tracks recorded, 2 tracks copied. Vocals are straining as usual but I like the song excluding some parts of the vocals. Angel: www.soundclick.com/bands/6/leftbrainedmusic.htmListen if you get some time. Stan

Stan, I have to say I always admire the fact you have no fear. You'll tackle any project head-on. Sometimes you don't always hit the mark, but you'll always have a go. That's a great quality.
The guitar is lovely here. Sometimes less is more, and this is a perfect example. Some of the vocal notes are a little short of where they should be, but otherwise this is not bad. The only production note I could mention is that the reverb on the voice makes it sound much farther back than the guitar. Normally it would be the other way around, or at least have the voice and guitar in the same "space" more or less.

I don't think it needs anything else. Sometimes you just gotta take them as you find them.

I just started playing. No tempo so I don't no if it was faster at the end or not. I liked the song in '70 with Hendrix release the album with Astro Man and some of the others I can remember. Thanks for the comments and listen. P.S. - I have listened to it yet. I just recorded it late last night, posted, and went to bed. Better go evaluate myself. Stan

beautiful.
amazing sound.
have to say theres few places you could punch in...but you know something....your vocal is perfect tone ...you have the ability...clearly no doubt....but think about when it goes to the high notes that what you want to be doing is not squeezing the note out of your throat, but squezzing the note out of your belly, try and push the air from the bottom of your lungs using the diaphragm....and though i didnt notice where the notes could have been held longer (cos i dont know the song) mike is absolutely right, and interestingly enough its something i only started practicing last weekend and that is holding the note at the end of every line of each verse for a moment longer...makes a helluva difference....
but hey, WOW!!

Mike: I did use vocal effects, not guitar effects. I set to "Response" PS5 effect which probably was responsible for sounding too far back in the song and pushing the guitar forward. But, if figured that the guitar was more interesting. I feel the diff in quality between the new strat and the old one and like the way it carries a tone. The S1 creates the actual effect.
Rob: thanks for the vocal tip. I don't know if it is more dangerous to strain a vocal chord from the throat, or risk a hernia operation. I guess life is always a risk and you just have to go for it.

Design! of course...yea that's the ticket.
Was thinking about the Who but didn't want to go to far and damage my new guitar into an amp speaker or something. I hear that replacing guitar necks can get quite expensive.

The S1 seems to give the switch setting a deeper tone. I usually don't use the S1. I like the sound better without it. It is good to add some guitar effect without using any external effect. Guess I still need some experimenting to do.
Thanks for the comments Roger. Stan
