I've become really lazy in the lyrics department (20 minutes worth) but just wanted to do a boogie-style song. Alvin Lee was one of my youth Heros, and in my opinion, is the best at it. My usual flawed structure in parts, but didn't have but a couple of hours yesterday to get a chance to record so I, of course, rushed it out. No bass, but there is an open track if someone wants to just boggie. I just went totally free-form on it (sloppy) so it might be a little hard to follow in parts. Boogie to Tulsa: www.soundclick.com/bands/6/leftbrainedmusic.htmLyrics also supplied since they move fast and sometimes are hard to make out. Stan

Never thought of that Roger!
Since the Beatles weren't at Woodstock, shouldn't we have done a 10 Years After, Who, and Hendrix song?
Just kidding, Scott. ;D

Stan, I used to tell Cameron this all the time, and now I'll tell you: if you'd take your time and really work a song out, you'd put many of us to shame. This oddly enough, does sound like Ten Years After. Good call Roger. This is an interesting first sketch of a song, but it would really rock if a week or so was invested in it. Think about it.

Yep this is a good start,
Yep spending some more time on the lyric Meter would really would really make this a lot better. The instumentation pretty cool, nice to jam on! Personally I think it would sound better with out that vocal effect or just turn down the effect level.
Good jam song though, it would be heleva jam! ;D

I really agree with the suggestions. My usual pattern is to work hard during the week, and record some on the weekends. Plans get wedged in, and I tend to rush a song to fit it in to my weekend schedule. Probably an excuse we all have.
But, if I can remained focused, and not burn myself out on a song, I do need to slow it down and get into a more creative process.
Thanks for the input. Now if can just follow through on it. Stan

Stan, you could always just keep knocking out covers like there's no tomorrow, but keep the originals on the back burner to work on in a more methodical manner. The PS5 probably encourages people to rush through recordings because it's so efficient to work with.

No doubt. I think I only recorded about 40-50 songs with my old 4-track tape player that I just gave to my nephew. Each song was almost a full-day project and usually came out really bad; especially vocals. I was Frustrated and not too interested in recording after several tape propjects. With the PS5 I can produce something of that quality in about 30-45 minutes. Kinda like playing a computer in a game of chess. Since the computer only takes 3 seconds to move (about 2M searches) you rush your moves and get clobbered. Stan
