I was just putting together a few chords tonight, and came up with this instrumental. It has 1 split acoustic track, 1 strat track, and 1 bass track. Just when I started to record I got a call from my mom that my dad's heart rate went down to 30 and was raced to the hospital. Never had a health problem in his life. Just last month, he jwent over 100 gold metals that he has won in his Senior Olymics swimming competitions over the past years. I'll be heading to Tulsa in the morning, but he is recovering well so far... I, by no means, think that this is it for my dad, but wherever God plans his destination to be, I know he will be home soon. www.soundclick.com/bands/8/stangulleymusic.htm

Thanks Rob, I really appreciate your comments.
My dad is back home and doing OK. The hospital said that he was in the best shape they had ever seen for someone his age. They just called it an "episode" after a full day of tests (whatever that means), and sent him back home. If it happens again then he will probably need a pacemaker. So, the weekend turned out really good.
A harp would sound really cool. Don't have any words or anything with this. Just kind of slopped a few chords together and it started to sound a little like the old Dobbie Brothers, but not near a musically sound.
Let me know if you want the tracks. Just bounce them down to 2 which gives you 2 more.

For you Roger, "Leaving Home" sounds like something you could relate well to. Give that a try!
I used the Country-> Cajan rock drums and slowed it down a little. I think around 120 tempo.

It might be hard to squeeze in some lyrics and then do vocals on this, but if anyone (Roger) wants to give it a try we could start a collaboration. Of course the title would need to be changed to fit the lyrics.
No big deal either way, but who knows what the final result might be?

Nice breezy progression. Dunno about harp, but (as usual), a bass track would be nice to tie the drums and guitar together. Maybe some horns accenting in the back.

I did a remix last night and boosted bass EQ around 250 since it was barely noticable on the first mix.
Threw in some mild background lead to fill it out. Hope I didn't overcook it.

Yeah, that's better. 250Hz works good for bass; you could try 400Hz too. It'll give you presence at low volumes.
