Worked on this alot, little bit here and a little bit there over the last two weeks. not my usual saturday record and sunday mix track, although you'll see that there is a lot of the same effects on the guitar that i like to use. ended up redoing the vocals on the first part of the song tonight with out any vocal effect but 20 on the reverb. actually felt reasonbly confident about the lyrics so i pu them up to (just incase theres too much reverb!!)...oh but careful its 5.29 minutes long...and you can thank stans 2 min comment for that!!! Hey Rob! This is a guitar extravaganza! Been hanging around with Stan? ;D Especially liked the subtle harmonica touch. Took me a while to notice it there in the instrumental break. Once I did notice it, I thought -- that's a pretty cool sound to get out of a harmonica and a cool way of blending it into the solo guitar. At times guitar and harmonica seem to melt into one another. The verse melody is vaguely reminiscent of "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot or TLC's "Waterfalls." (OK, Mike, take your shot! ) Good song, Rob! No need to feel self conscious about the lyrics. They touch a universal chord -- that of remembering childhood friendships and wondering where everyone ended up. Charlie

I really like this. Especially the 'hazy' production, like a fabled lost track. I hear what Charlie is saying about Lightfoot and TLC (how many times will you use them in the same sentence?). I also hear Neil Young, Badfinger, and bits of Black Sabbath & Mott the Hoople (!). Very awesome. I think the amp & pedal were worth every penny now. See what happens when you take a bit of time and work on a song instead of knocking them out in a day. . . Stan?

Wow Rob, I've been waiting on a new one for some time and it was well worth the wait! What more can you ask from one song? Screaming tubes, cool distorsion on guitars, delayed lead echos, dual harp-lead combos, great wah towards the end; and probably left out a couple of things somewhere that I didn't catch. Your equipment is really pumping out some excellent sounds. When is your "Rob's Friends" CD hitting the market. Better get a live band soon or your fans will get angry. If the vocals were up a touch (look who's talking) the mix balance would have fooled me into thinking that it came from a pro studio. Keep up the excellent work! P.S. -- Mike, if I spent more time maybe I'll pump something out soon that has a much better quality. I've already given up keeping up with Rob. Stan

Super! Rob. Yes the song really has a lot in it, but it doesn't sound over done at all. I would have like to hear the vocals a little bit more. Good one!
