Posted a couple, one in each of my music pages (at the bottom)
1) "Your Love," (a cover) that I converted to a country style song (not pure country) but that's as close as you will see me get to a country song.
2) "Fight The Good Fight." Just some jamming on a repative riff that I may have really over-cooked.

FTGF: Uptempo mid-70's backing track. I like it; now all it needs is vocals. C'mon Stan, think like Mick!

Hey Stan!
Interesting treatment of "Your Love, Oh Lord" -- changing it from a contemporary pop sound to a countryish song. Works well! Excellent guitar work, as always!
Ditto previous comments on "Fight The Good Fight." It kept my interest for about the first minute and a half. Certainly has potential, though!

I was thinking the same thing Charlie. I liked what I started but just didn't expand on the idea. Now that the riff is buried in my brain I might undig it sometime and try to come up with something complete.
Meanwhile, I wrote a song this weekend with 3 acoustic guitar parts and vocals (actual words). I will be posting it sometime this week. I liked it when I turned off the PS5 this afternoon, so I'll see what it sounds like tomorrow or the next day.
Thanks to everyone that took time to listen. Stan

Hi Stan! Hadn't read Mike's comment when I heard FTGF but I thought just the same. Pretty cool 70's rock . The tune has potential to me. Hope you turn it into a full song, could be a really good one! About "Your Love". To me its country. Nice tune, I liked it all the way. Nice guitar on both songs

Thanks for listening Gamma, I really appreciate your comments. I will probably try to turn this into something then. Now that I got my Strat back yesterday from the shop, major bridge adjustment. One thing a learned about buying a guitar online is that Musican's Friend doesn't have qualified adjustments of the guitar before it ships. The bridge was setup for tremelo (which I don't use) and strings were breaking. The first time I restrung, the whole bridge popped out from under the posts. The guitar was adjusted & everything is perfect (for $40, adjustments aren't covered under Fender warranty) Anyway, after lost time, and getting referred around in a circle it is finally back at the house. MF ref--->Fender Rep--->Fender Certified Shop--> $40 I was told this before, but now I have learned, don't buy a guitar online. Try to negociate with a shop and quote a low price that someone else is selling the same guitar for. Since this is my first guitar I've bought with quality and craftmanship, I was more interested in getting it in my hands, instead of being smart about the purchase... On & on & on...... Stan

i agree stan, buy local, shes your baby you must feel her up before taking home. our local shop all new gtrs some w/a free setup. that was pleasant news to find out after i made up my mind to buy my last gtr.. but i know how it is when you want it you want it. thats why i have a ps5, the same shop didnt have what i wanted (whatever it was hehehe).
that reminds me i think i shoulda bought the tele instead of the acoustic... i havent even been playing it!!

Yep, Matt, your are correct. The local guy said that Musicians Friend just ships, and that Fender uses their higher-quality wood for shops, and lower for internet purchases. With quality assurance I doubt if this is true. He also explained that extra tension is provided in the bridge for the tremelo. If you don't use one then the configuration is off. Still, breaking strings, and the bridge popping out of the front doesn't make sense even if the bridge is tighter. If the guitar is flawed I'll soon find out (my strings are bent more than they are straight when I'm playing. Just thought that I would mention it in-case someone was deciding to purchase a guitar on the internet. Stan

OH Yeah,
The guy at the shop also said that he had to re-adjust from 9's (factory) to 10's (I play with) for the intonation/neck tension to be correct. I was having doubts about that as well. He went on to say, change out strings at least once a month. My thought is to leave them on until one breaks. Then he said to bring it in at least once a year for servicing to adjust frets..... on and on....

I don't know about 'adjusting' frets (?), but if you like a nice bright, sound, you should change strings often. A buddy of mine changes strings weekly. Some of the other stuff that salesman said sounds like a load of nonsense.

yeah!! the thing about the different woods being shipped different places sounds like a load of crap. but the thing about adjusting the intonation is 100% correct as changing guages makes a HUGE amnount of difference in the tension on the neck.. maybe the "adjusting frets" is maybe just a polish or grind and polish.. ive been actively playing my strat since buying new about 96' and its starting to show some fret wear (I guess i can stop thinking of it as new now). im gonna keep playing till i get buzz..

Matt, Time to get those frets serviced. Don't put it off. Yeah, he was talking about fret leveling. Now I'm really starting to understand the meaning of that "Perfectly Good Guitar" song. Thanks for the information & insight guys. Oh yeah, another quirk that I was unaware of was the string holes in the back only line up if the tremelo-bar is installed. Without it on you will have to remove 6 wood screws on the plastic cover to change out your strings (1 month will wear out the screws in a couple of yrs.). For that reason, most guitar owners leave the plasic over off the back. All new news to me. Frankly, I liked the original idea of having the strings located at the back of the bridge and pulled straight through. Stan
