Well I guess I lied the other day, I wrote me a Country Song. My youngest son was telling me how much he hated country music and that it all sounded the same (my dog died yesterday, etc.) Anyway, I wasted the whole day on this.
Hope you like it: It is in Stan's Band link at the bottom.
Thanks, Stan

Good one Stan. You tell a good "broke on the road" story. How'd your son like it?
How many guitar tracks are in this tune? three? Or is one of them the TG?

My son? He wouldn't listen to this... but I'll put it on in the car when we are driving somewhere. ;D I used the Alvarez on all 3 guitar tracks. Lead on an acoustic is a real rattlesnake sometimes but it came out blended with the MIDI instruments pretty well. Thanks for the complement, and thanks for listening to it. It is all about my dry sense of humor Example: "Thank you George Bush," refers to the American people actually thinking that a President can either fix or ruin the economy instead of the filthy rich. Don't get me started or I'll sing it again. Stan

Country? Stan is turning into a 21st century Dylan. Not bad all around. Maybe the guitars are too busy sometimes behind the vocals, but overall it has that pent-up annoyed feel to it that helps make these songs work. An anthem for the masses.

Country? Stan is turning into a 21st century Dylan... Ditto -- My first reaction (Before reading Mike's post) was that this sounded like it would fit nicely on Highway 61 Revisited. To me, it sounds more like bluesy folk than country. Good one, Stan! Charlie

Funny you mention that Roger. I waited for 2 weeks to get my Strat out of the shop, and she's still over in the corner in her case. Guess I just want to keep her beautiful. But maybe today.
Thanks for the complements on this one. I was think more of putting myself in the place of the many people have got laid off in the past few years. The attitude was more to fit into the feeling of the song. I actually had fun, but couldn't play this kind of music on a regular basis.
Thanks for listening. Yea me an Matt ought to try another one together.

Following up on Charlie and Mike, yes, to me its more blues than country. A nice blues anyway.
The voice is the highlight. Nice work there. The guitars in the back tend to be messy at times (to my ear) but its the vocal on top what pulls the attention.
Nice one buddy.
Here in Mexico we say that when the US catches a flu, we get neumonia. It would be a long list of "thankyous" before the end of the song if seen from our side of the border. ;D
