Helen's already told me when you get your band together and play live somewhere she wants an invite.
The only song of theirs that comes to mind right now is: "If You Want It, Here It Is Come and Get It." But there were several more I really liked.
I was a little confused when this song first came out too. It was just after "Abbey Road" came out, and I thought.... it could be the Beatles. But I think their guitar tone was very distinctive. Oh yeah, one of the PS5 guitar effects is Badfinger.

Yep, Badfinger is who I was thinking of (but I'd have never put my finger on the name). Rob take a listen. This is If You Want It. Jim

As per Rob's request, I posted an mp3 of Come And Get It in his MMM folder. That song should sound Beatle-y, since it was written and produced by McCartney. They have other songs that have harmonies more like Rob's tune, but CAGI was their first big hit (1969) and is a good example of their sound. I knew all of you would remember it. Back when the Gallaghers were still in diapers, Badfinger had it nailed down.

the first track that i know i could stand on stage and play comfortably...cos the lyrics dont reveal anything about me! i had an art teacher told me once: you cannot hide yourself from your art, sad thing , i know..

I listened to what I assume was the new mix today, and to be honest, I didn't hear any difference. Granted, I couldn't a/b the original mix to make sure, but the guitars still seemed pretty hot.

oh, no, i didnt repost it!!
i tried but soundclick kept bouncing me out....so err, mikey gets a gold star...but mathew gets a free voucher for the doctor to get his ears cleaned!!!
i'm so pleased with this tune, but not the recording. what i am going to do is practice this tune cos its going to be on the "set list", so i will rerecord after ive practiced ot loads, then repost.
got a new tune i found last night....A G D C...im putting the chords here cos it looks like im going offshore to a rig on saturday for a few weeks...so i shall be far from my toys....but whence i return , i shall record.
im reading an oasis biography, and wanted to share a noels favourite quote from lennon on song writing...not verbatum...cos dont have book on front of me, but essence was: lennon always made sure that the melody was the absolute simplest thing he could find, the first thing that came to him with the chords, so that the listener knows what is coming next. ...
ill get the quote down proper later...
