Interesting group of songs. Obvious Tom Waits influence. I'd be really keen to know more about how you recorded them.

Hi mcarp, Thanks. Don't know quite what you mean by how I recorded them. You mean like the settings, or how many tracks and such?

Well, the backing all sounds amazingly professional. Was it done directly to a PS5? Are those real drums? What kind of mics & outboard gear did you use? Are you playing everything? Any bouncing involved? Just tell us. . . everything. ;D

Otay, Here goes, All recorded directly to the PS5. The mic is the one that comes with it. The headset mic. I used the chorus setting on most songs. On one song I did use emphasis. The drums are the PS5's. I just added a little reverb on the final mix is all. I played guitar straight in the line in and used the internal fx. Most songs I did two guitar tracks. Vocals on one track and even had a line left. Filled in some with the PS5's TG instruments. Some songs I used one instrument only. What I do is have a sound in mind, start with the drum and bass, only. I find the beat I'm looking for, then start laying in the changes how and where I want the changes to occur. Add the chords, add guitars add vocals walla. Sahib

Very good. The songs all have a nice solid sound, and the writing is not bad either. I'll add your SC link to our list. Look forward to more.

Interesting sound Sahib. I'd have to totally agree on the Tom Waits influence comment. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on converting the song Files to Mp3 in order to post to Soundclick as you have? When I connect to my PC, via USB cable, there is no data in the MP3 or SMF file folder? When I press the 'MP3" button, the'STMIX' prompt appears? and I can then listen to track #1....... Am I missing something here? do I have to press the MP3 button before recording in order to save the file as and Mp3? And if so, how much space or aprox. recording time can I record at that point? Any Help would be TEXTGREATLY TEXT appreciated! Sincerely, Mike

Hey Mike, As mcarp stated, your question has been answered in the help section. I know at first all this can be complicated, but stick with it get it figured out and once you do it, it becomes easy. You mix down your song files to MP3 on the PS5. When you go into the MP3 mode the STMIX just means stereo mix and is the default name. Just to make things simple rename it at this point to something having to do with the song. Say the name of your song is LAST DANCE enter LAST1 or something like that. Once you do that and hit enter the MP3 button will stop blinking and you are ready to mix. You can play it back and adjust everything at this point, and when you're ready hit play record to put it down to MP3. When you're done it will ask if you want to remix. If not hit exit and it will go into MP3 play mode. To listen to MP3 play back all you use is the master fader to hear it. Then you're ready to take it to the PC and transfer. I hope that this is of some help. If you still have trouble don"t hesitate to ask . Sahib

Thanks guys...... I've finally figured it out and feel really silly for the amount of time it took me to solve this.....thanks for humouring my petty little rookie questions... there "might" be more to come. Check out my tunes if you have the chance at www.soundclick.com/bands/4/lemmoneymusic.htm
