I dug up an old Leon Russell song from the 60's that I did this afternoon. I really liked Leon's lyrics as well as his unique talent. Just wanted to let Matt know that I don't resent growing up in the 60's... getting drafted in the 70's maybe.. Stan

Hiya Stan, I went to both your pages, but didn't see this one there. I also liked Leon quite a bit, especially after his turn with Joe Cocker in Mad Dogs and Englishmen. In fact, it took a LOT of hunting on Ebay, but I did unearth a DVD of that film....from Brazil, no less! Pretty poor video transfer quality, but the music is just as good as I remember it being!

Bob,
What I thought sounded like Leon the night before sounded like trash the next day so I took it off. I need to use a 1+ day rule before posting. Kinda embarrasing...but I'll live.
Thanks for the attempt. I'll post something next time I delete one.

OK,
I rejuvenated this out of the bit-bucket ashes of dispare and redid the vocals. Better anyway..
If you like ol'e 60-70s rock-n-roll you might like tihs.

Nice cover, Stan! Your Texan accent lends itself well to the Leon tune (I don't think Leon was a Texan, but his accent was a lot more Southern than what you generally hear up here in New england, that's for sure!).

Bob, Actually we both grew up in Tulsa. He graduated from Tulsa Rogers, and I graduated from Tulsa Hale. Both Mary Kay Place (in the movie The Big Chill and the Mary Hartman-Mary Hartman TV show) and Gary Busey are both from my high school. I use to try and imitate Leon in my teenage days but most of it has since left me. Maybe a good thing. Stan
