Nice track, with a lot of M.K. influence in the vocal - from another Dire Straits fan here! In fact, the Brothers In Arms tour had the absolute best sound mix I have ever heard in ANY live venue. You could hear whether it was the crown or the cymbal being struck. They were as meticulous about the live sound as they were the recording. Good stuff!

I agree with Bob - nice tight track, lotsa guitar. Only two things I'd change in the mix:
Bring up the vocal - it's somewhat buried (at least in lo-fi), and needs to be heard.
I never like those sudden cutoff endings. Maybe you could let it play out and bring down the master fader during mixdown to make it smoother.
Other than those two little points, it feels good!

nice! well since we're saying "if i did it" which im sure you want to hear , id lower drums get and mike john frank or any other bass player to give some real groove with that nice gtr playing. but hey THATS ME anyhow really nice sound! stan youre makin me regret never seein dire straights, maybe someday still.
