well guys i did it, sold my ps5 as i wasn't really using it.. i know you;re dying to know.. but i'll still hang around here and keep ya'll company as time allows. anyhow the limegreen sweaters song i did this winter (on computer) - i ended up collaborating with smeedo to do a sax solo which we accomplished by using the ps5 -i recorded the song to ps5, transferred to him, he does his thing, i get it back and export (ok play it) it to the computer back into the multitrack software im using. walah! smeedo's not so hot on it, but i do know one thing: the song is improved by it NO DOUBT. so its limegreen sweaters and parking meters (1.5) on soundclick. hope you enjoy . he actually did this about 2 mos ago, and was going to do another take but i havent heard anything so im calling it done cause i like it

Hey matt,
Too bad you've let the PS5 go - it's still a very active part of my setup, even with the new gear. The tune is nice and easy - I liked smeedo's sax solo, and I like the "faraway" sound you got on the guitar fills...they both added nice touches. Good luck with the computer tracking!

In my defence, I always said the solo stank but I was told it was good and liked - WHAM !
'Smeedo's not so hot on it'
Well that's what happens when you turn your back.
If it helps I did offer to record another solo - how about my new tenor sax ?
oh well.........you live and learn

hey smeedo, i think he meant that YOU weren't happy (hot) with it but that it really added to the song . . . . at least that is what i got . . . . and i think it DOES add a lot, i liked it . . . .

Hiya smeedo, I also liked the sax, and felt it was a definite "add" to the piece (as I mentioned in my reply). I think what you sax players do is certainly more difficult than what I, as a bass player, do. If I tried to get music out of a sax, I fear it would sound like a Canadian Goose with his tail caught in a blender (yikes, now that's a visual! ) Keep on keeping on! Bob

Sorry - guess I picked you up wrong. It's probably a difference in phrasing that we scottish wouldn't use. Really sorry if i've caused offence. As I said, i'd still like to give it another shot. I've got a new (well, new for me) tenor sax and it's helped my enthusiasm for playing again.
Cheers
Ian

Matt, Good tune! Great Sax part Ian!
I can't believe you unloaded your PS5. Even if you use your PC to mix, don't you still want to use the PS5 for recording tracks?

No sweat smeedo thank you! i get overall tepid responses to this tune but its one of my personal favs i dont know why, now its got sax, im thrilled! well it was partly a financial decision Jim, changed jobs (making alot less $ at least for immediate future) and looking around at things i'm not using that are degrading in value.. silly decision probably.. oh well.. it's in CA somewhere now. ill hang around here nobody else will have me eventually maybe mike will start another group or merge this into the next great thing. or not.

Really good song. Sweet sax. How could there be anything wrong with that track? The overall song was great. Vocals, guitar, sax, all belong and the mix really sounded complete. Hey Matt, you better still drop by and post your songs. Whether mixed by computer, PS5, 788, 2488, analog tape... Stan
