Hey matt, I never really gave much thought to selling my music. After much encouragment from others though, I decided to check into it. I checked out numerous sources and possibilities. Mindawn just made alot of sence to me. It's all download for one thing. You can sell tracks or whole albums. Along the concept of iTunes and other electronic distributors. No hard CD, no shipping and handling fees, etc. It's $50 to open an account. It was $50 a year, but for now it's a one time fee. You can upload as many tracks, and albums as you want. No limit. You get your own site and can put up pretty much what you want to on it. Royalties are 75% for exclusive, 55% non-exclusive. So if you sell only at Mindawn you keep 75% of all sells. You can sell at Mindawn and somewhere's else, and you keep 55%. They pay every month. Direct deposit into a paypal account that you set up. You can have other sites if you wish, where people can go and hear your music. That's up to you, and advisable so you can direct them to the Mindawn site. Just in case they're interested. Hope this was the info you were looking for. Sahib

Sahib,
I checked it out. I can't believe the number of songs/albums that you have written! You have some really poetic stuff with lots to say from what I have heard so far. There is a definte uniqueness to your music.
Only only thing about Mindawn that might discourage me as a buyer vs. seller is the fact that you are charge for download time (I am assuming) without really knowing what the track first sounds like. 20 seconds to 1 min. clips of individual tracks without charge would be much more attractive (unless I am not understanding their process)
Cool store with massive selection. I need more time on my schedule to go over again and really check out more of your songs.

Hey Stan, Good to hear from you., and thanks sincerely for the kind words. At mindawn, once a person registers, as a listener or artist, he goes to the download section and downloads the mindawn player, for free. A very simple process. Then he can go to the site for the tracks and you can listen to the tracks you're interested in. The entire song, not just a snippet. One of the other things I like about Mindawn as well. You can listen to the song up to 3 times actually all the way through. The mindawn player keeps tabs and knows when you played the same song 3 times. After 3 times it just won't play it anymore. You get 3 listens for every song. The listens are entirely free. If you noticed on my site at Mindawn, I have the link to myspace.com. That way people can go there and check out the music without having to download the mindawn player first. Also at myspace I have links to my other sites where they can go and hear even more songs. You may have noticed at Mindawn the formats are OGG and FLAC, not MP3. OGG is similiar to MP3. FLAC is CDaudio quality. No digital loss in the process. Just like buying the hard CD. There is another software you download for free called MARS. This can convert the files to WMA MP3 or what ever you want. I don't believe you have to have this to get music on Mindawn though. But you would need it to upload to Mindawn. But it's pretty simple. It rips your CD,s or converts your files you send to the OGG or FLAC files. Mindawn does a better job explaining all this in the FAQ section. Hope this helps. Sahib

Yea, I went over to your myspace and listened to a couple of your songs all the way through. Mindawn's player makes more sense to me now, in the fact that they do allow you to listen first before charging downloads, but still control the number of listens.
Thanks for clarifying. Stan

Or... The "3 strikes you're OUT" rule. After that 3rd time you gotta pay the pentilty.
