Hi guys! A couple weeks ago I listed three of my songs on Podsafe Music Network. I received a notice this morning that a podcaster has picked up "Love is a Hunger" for Episode 16 of Wind from the Plains. The episode has a bluesy selection of music. Pretty good! Charlie

Wow, pretty nifty Charlie! What's the the PMN all about? Don't forget all of us when you're famous!

Congrats, Charlie! I'm not familiar with the PMN either, but it's always good to get your work out to where new ears can hear and enjoy it!

Charlie, You have a recognizable voice which offers a true uniqueness that people identify with, not to mention the lyrical content being constructed nicely. A song about "Love" identifies with lots of people so you may have hit a pretty good target market of listeners. Just 7 more like this and maybe CDBaby? maybe? Stan

Thanks for the encouraging words, guys! A bit of background on the Podsafe network. You're probably familiar with the ubiquitous iPods that seem to be sprouting out of people's ears and popping up in ads all over the Internet. ("Swat the fly and win a free iPod!") Well, I'm not sure whether Apple initiated the idea or whether they've simply jumped on the promotional bandwagon. There are hundreds of people putting together short radio programs, on almost every conceivable topic, generally in mp3 format, for download to iPods and listening on the go. These programs are called Podcasts. For many, it's a kind of audio blog, but there are bigger players too. NPR has summary podcasts of many of its regular radio programs, and ABC has a handful. As amateur podcasters worked on improving the quality of their offerings, they looked for music they could add without incurring the wrath of the RIAA. Enter the Podsafe network. Musicians seeking a wider audience for their music post songs under a licensing arrangement that gives podcasters free use of the songs -- to put into podcasts, to "mash" into new arrangements, etc. So far I've been impressed with the quality of podcasts and the Podsafe music that I've heard. Don't think there's much risk of becoming famous, but I'll remember my PS5 buddies whether I'm famous or not! In the words of Ricky Skaggs: "Don't get above your raisins..." Charlie
