Hans, The only chance I get to review songs, or record for that matter, is on the weekends. Its a bummer having a job that doesn't allow MP3 streaming. but, at my age, at least its a job. You always astound with the way you can take something so familiar and set a nice-uniqueness & ring to it. Loved the bass and the twank mixture, and it sounded like real room-verb. Was that some mic'd amp, and PA, or some expensive reverb unit. The whole song sounded fantastic. Stan

Lucky you with your fulltime job that helps making the chimney smoke. Catching mice is getting harder and harder for old cats like us. But there is hope, once we continue to make such great music like we do! See you in Hollywood, soon! Reverb comes from a Cubase VST plugin, called "wonderverb". I found some settings on the PS5 that match my ideas of sound for the guitars: with the tele and the strat it's always rhythm2 or rhythm3 or cleansolo, the accoustic always dry, the bass on "peculiar" (plus some delicat stompboxes with secret settings ). Vox depends, either chorist or de-esser or moody. The rest is done in the mix with Cubase.

Your bands music is cool! I love your rendition of Wayfaring Stranger. So you fellows across the pond like folk music too? Im not trying to sound ignorant, I just have no idea what you guys are into other than the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. It is good to hear different styles of music coming out of our comrades' homeland White Wolf www.dulcimers.4ever.cc

Hans, Your stuff is really evolving very well. If I ever have some extra cash on hand I may get a laptop soley for the purpose of mixing and storing music, as well as investing in some good mixing/mastering software. Right now I'm just having fun with the Tascam 24 track and moving all of those physical sliders all around. Yep, old man time os catching up with us. Stan

Hey Whitey, me and my kin grew up like you, with Beatles, Dylan, Zappa, Stones, Hendrix, Santana and those kinda Pop-Heroes. But for a few of us there have also been Howlin' Wolfe, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Leadbelly, Chet Atkins, Woody & Arlo Guthrie besides irish, scottish, bohemian, bavarian folkmusic, some classic, polkas and lyrical songs. Nowadays there is 99% bullshit in the record stores, the musicbiz is like pimp-biz. Do I sound bitter? Maybe but the leftover 1% is worth listening: Hellecasters, Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Johnson, Junior Brown, Albert Collins, Eric Lugosch and many more plus those fantastic unknown musicians you can find here and on the www.
And btw, my homeland is not where your comrades live, but wherever I find openminded friendly people with a good sense of humor and social engagement.
Wake up, Stan! Have you ever heard of "magix musicmaker"? That's an affordable software with fine mastering tools. Now, back to bed.
May the muse be with you

I just read up on it, and the deluxe version is sold at Comp U.S.A. for $79US. Not bad at all for what it advertises to do; along with the burning capabilities and pitch correction.

Yes, pitch correction works fine, and also compressor, eq and a stereo processor (all with fine presets) and in the mastermix a loudnessmaximizer. Best run on a Pentium 4 processor (in the Billy Gates world). Well worth a try!

Well what can I say? Clever opening, nice tight guitar w/good tone, all the usual Hans ingredients. All in a classic tune. All I can do is heap praise. Shovel, shovel, shovel...
