Ladies and Gentlemen, here is a coverversion of Wayne "the Train" Hancocks "Highway 54. It's on a new soundclick site, which I built to publish my country efforts. Don't worry about the name, I picked that to start a big career in Nashville ;D www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=499139I must apologize to you about the flanging, hiss and the digital distortion at the beginning. Don't know where it comes from, maybe from the mastering-tool (stereo expander, compressor, eq) or from encoding to mp3. Please tell me, what you feel and enjoy. Hans

Hans, You can take that tele of yours' to the bank on this one. Great story line & great presentation. If you met the regular Dallas crowd on a late Friday afternoon with this song, they would give you a standing ovation. Really I was hearing some Johnny Cash riffs in there as well!

Hi Stan, thank you for listening. You should hear Eddie Biebel, the guitarplayer at the side of Wayne Hancock. HE is a picker!

Hi out there! Did a new mix and solo on Highway 54. No more flanging, only little digital distortion (cause i cowarded during recording the 6-string ) I used the PS5 as a mastering tool and mp3 encoder. That works fine! Listen here: www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=499139Enjoy! Hans

I gotta get a Tele... Great licks. Another standard every bar band in the world has learned (or one just like it). We've all been there. You can almost smell the ciggies and stale beer.

Morning Mike, seems like the old grizzly finished his hibernation ;-) Thanx for listening and your kind words (where shall I send the bribe?) Well, you and me and some of the UG fellows know what Lyle really meant with that song ("Shure, darling, I'll be out immediately mowing the loan! I promise!"). How is the baby? And yes, there is a smell of ciggies'n'beer in these songs, they are meant for the fridaynight crazes! (I remember well! Now it's more: What's on the telly, darling?)
Since I published as Chris Hansen on soundclick, I got three offerings to join german countrybands, with one of them I'll play two gigs next week. Let's see what happens next... And that's all because I started with music again (after being busy with my job-career for twenty years) and got the PS5 four years ago. This funny little thing really helped me changing my live to the better, focussing my free time on music. Now the blue tool is the center of my homerecording, I play the soundbank with a midi-keyboard, use the fx-section with voc and git as preamp and A/D converter for HD recording and use the recorder as a notebook for spontaneous musical ideas and for dictations. I'll surely NEVER live without it, I'll take it with me six feet under. Amen.
Hans
ps Mike, thank you for being our MOD, expert, mate and spiritus rector on this (and former) international forum for all these years. You do a fantastic job and I hope that you have some benefit from it, in whatever currency there is. Hats off!
pps Stan, I know I'm late, but things are rolling. Please be patient with me. Good new tune, fine guitars!
ppps Guten Tag, Herr Holz! Get yourself some cases for the guitars, no real Swabian would treat his instruments that way ;-)

Hans, Sorry it took me so long to listen. The baby's 13 months old, and keeps me hopping daily. I've got the PS5, a keyboard, and two guitars stacked up in the dining room, and every now and then I sneak off just to let my fingers remind me I'm a musician.
Bribes? Buy some t-shirts, heh heh...
And keep those tunes coming! Next time I get a chance to listen (August, at this rate?), I'll need more to fuel my 'one-man listening party'.
