Don't know what I am doing with this one . . . . . Called "Righteous" at both my Funender site and Soundclick.

Hi Holz, that's a great tune!
For my ears maybe you should give the guitar more "body". It sounds like you recorded it only with the build in piezo - that makes her a bit harsh. Try to mike her with your tube-fed condenser studio-mike and mix her with a slight auto pan. That'll do!
Congrats!

That's it! Fine, "expensive" reverb on the vocals. Is it PS5 or that other thing? Hans (who is having a very quiet and silent sunday, after the last birthdayparty guests left around 2 a.m.)

Sorry for the late delay on the post. I did hear this tune last week and thought the presentation and lyrics were great. The guitar does come off sounding a little thin, but very well played.
On the 2488 you could play around by cloning the guitar track and paning the 2 tracks about 40 L/R, and then mess with the EQs on both sides until you like the balance, or do a boune with a single effect on the guitar and then mix the FX track directly over the dry signal. Lots of things you might do including looping it through an FX unit and then back into the 2488. I use the BBE sonic maximizer for this sometimes to get a better range.
Really liked it! Thanks for sharing it. Stan

Another great demo. Tending as I do to want to over-orchestrate everything, I can hear the strings and horns throughout. While some people may think the song is better off stark as the demo, I'm of the opinion that a bit more 'beef' in the backing will make it even more powerful and evocative. A very mature song Rog. Now can you take it to the next step?

Nice work Roger. I have to agree with Mike -- to me this is a very good song that deserves to become more than what it is. I imagine it as a half-and-half piece (don't know how else to describe that), starting out totally acoustic as it now is, until suddenly a rimshot rings out and it becomes a fully produced rock piece with electrics, drums, and maybe even some of those strings Mike hears in the background. Than maybe a lead guitar break building up to a cresendo where the bottom drops out, leaving the acoustic origin, and starting the whole process again. Of course you'd have to do in on the 2488 to have the necessary tracks, and find a drummer, unless you have a set of cans hidden underneath that pile of guitars.
