Here is a new song that I spent some extra time on. I found that after I recorded all of the tracks that my voice just couldn't reach some of the parts, so I had to transpose it down 1.5 steps. After re-recording all the tracks over in the new key, I finished up tonight.
It is under "Stan's Christian" songs. I know it still has a ruff spot or two, but I do like its chord structure and the way it transitions in & out of the chorus parts.
I need some feedback to see if this is one worth persuing. I'd like to get to 10 songs this year that I feel I can listen to in a couple of years and say, yeah that one was OK.

Very much worth persuing and polishing! Your mixing has been improving steadily, and this track really shows that improvement quite a bit. The use of the stereo field in the verse passages for the guitar is really nicely done. Your vocal is dead on (good transposition) and sits nicely in the mix. I'd add just a touch of presence in the softer passages (slight verb or delay) just to add to the sense of space that you've conveyed so well, but that's just me. The dynamics in the chorus kick in and out nicely - I might back down on the EQ or the level for your lead, just so it doesn't compete with the vocal - just a touch to let it sit right behind your voice. Fine piece of work there, fella!

Thanks Bob for the extra points & detail. Just what's needed before thinking some refinement. Thinking about redoing the lead part or just EQ down more, like you said. Only did 2 -3 takes on lead part, and might get something a little more relative squeezed in. 5 guitar tracks in this! 2 miced acoustics hard L/R, 2 electrics 50% L/R, & lead. Thank again for these pointers! Might just go "Iteration II" then.

yeah it definitely deserves another visit. transposing is the word i was looking for before, i find myself trying a few different ones everytime do a song, of course theres always the screaming cat, and then the nick cave versions somewhere. so nice, it fits your range now. but whats going on with the timing! are you sure youre in time there stanley? i like the lead alot, but then it immediately reminded me of oasis so you cant go wrong with me there!

I posted this on the 2488 forum and some of the suggestions were to unclog the mix & tighten things up so I gave it another post.
I do probably want to keep this now, but need some suggestions on what to redo, and what can be kept. Thanks for any of your input. Stan
