Hey guys,
I wrote a new song, called Bittersweet Goodbye. I started to write it while my dad was in the hospital this last month, now he has passed away. So it is inspired by this experience I guess...
I really like any feedback you guys can give! I don't have a lot of time right now, but I will do some listening later tonight hopefully.
Thanks guys, hope everyone is all right!

Cam,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you and your mom are okay. At least as okay as you can be in such a situation. If I can be of any help to you during this difficult time, drop me a note.
As for the song, it's a damn fine piece of work. You're not a boy playing around at writing songs anymore; you're a man who produces good material. The only technical notes I would suggest would be to nudge the vocal and solo up a tad; they're in danger of being swamped by the snare and acoustic. Otherwise, it's gold.

hey cam, sorry about your loss, i experienced the same thing with my mom exactly a year ago and also wrote a song immediately after. my sympathies. liked the song. great lyrics, of course i was listening on a laptop with not the greatest speakers. i would pull up a bit more bass and less treble. great song.

Hi Cameron, I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad recently, and will pray for a feeling of peace for both you and your family. Your vocals show a lot of strong emotion and the song has real lyrical deepth.
I agree with both Rogers & Mikes comments. The vocals need to come up a little; at least at the beginning part of the song. And, the bass track did seem a little weak throughout. But, a really nice song and very well constructed & executed.

Hey Guys
Thanks for the supprt, honestly, even though I have never met any of you face to face, I consider you freinds.
Mike, I feel like I have really grown musically over the past months in my first year at college, and I think it has really shown through in this song... Your comment seems to support that thought. Hopefully I can keep growing... Next year I'm going into recording, so I will be a Recording Major, and am going to take songwriting as my optional course. I will get to use the big studio at school, should be an amazing experience I should learn a ton... Plus I will be doing what I love writing songs and recording!
Roger, I felt so much better after recording and mixing this saturday, it was exactly what I needed, wasn't what I should have been doing but mentally the best thing. I think for people like us there is no better therapy.
Stan, thanks for the support of prayer, truely appreciate it, I think my mom needs them alot.
Thanks for the critiques, I remixed this, I believe it is wayyyy better now overall. Great suggestions, I thank you for them! I would have to say this is near of not my best work thus far... I think a sense of purpose in writing goes a long way.

The remix is much better. The vocal and bass are "there" now.

Yes, much better EQ balancing! I can really distinguish both the great vocal harmonies & dual lead guitars underneath much clearer. I could use even more bass, but that is just my pref. Cam, after you are totally educated, I think you are going to be insanely good.

Cameron, Please allow me to add my condolences and prayers for you and your family. I know it must be especially hard for your mom -- this will change the rest of her life. Peace to you and to her. Congratulations on your decision to concentrate your studies on recording and songwriting! That would have been a dream come true for me when I was your age! Interestingly, my wife asked me a few days ago what my ideal job would be if I could be successful at anything. I answered that I'd like to have a job like George Martin's: recording and arranging. Of course, I could only work with the styles of music I love. Charlie

Sorry about your Dad Cam. Good luck with that, but so long as you are talking about it, and writing about it then you are, at least, not resisting the healing...recovery process. hope your mum is coping with it.
yeah the song is ok...good, recording is ok...good, but the vocal! ha! wow. when that chorus comes in with the anger, it's like the unveiling of something very special! it's there cam, and that voice is way better than i hoped for. when the chorus comes in my smile widens and my hair stands on end!!
glad to hear from you, sorry about the circumstances.
HI TO EVERYONE! mike, rog, stan, charlie. great that we all drop into this little spot everynow and then...and that reminds me.. thanks for keeping the doors open for us mike!

Sorry about your loss Cam. A little late to comment on the recording I guess -- the remix being posted and sounding pretty darn nice. So I'll just say that I really like this song -- the chorus is expecially moving. Wish I could write this well.
Regards, Tom
