I wrote a new Easter song today. It is in the Alternative category so I hope it doesn't offend anyone. Higher bit-rate @ www.myspace.com/stangulleyor Christian Sound Click link below. Stan

Well, this one has a pretty neat ending, especially compared to some of the others I could mention. I had a hard time getting a handle on this one - it's not as awesome as The Birds From Yesterday, which was admittedly a tough act to follow. The drums are perhaps a touch too busy, and it seems to affect the phrasing going in or out of various lyrics, making it sound clumsy because they aren't syncing up as well as they should. Guitars are tight and crunchy, vocals are continuing to improve. There's a lot of starkness in this song, which I suppose is the point, but also a lot of bother that tends to distract from the point.

Thanks Mike for your comments. The 2-day test has always helped me get a better grasp (fresh ears, etc), and after listening 2 days later this song isn't doing much for me.
I wrote down several passages from Psalms 22 and Isaiah 54 and kind of lumped them together, so now the lyrical phrasing seems off and verses don't rhyme which makes it clumbsy. I appreciate you taking your time to listen.
I may go back and work on it this weekend if I get some time.
