I like it. I like it plenty. Nice beat, good melody, catchy chorus, guitars under control, drums boppin' things right along. Makes me happy.
Only two things worth commenting on, tho:
1. Middle seems sort of empty. Is there a solo playing? It might have been different to change up the beat, or drop out the guitars, or something. It's okay the way it is, but I can hear how it might have been slightly better.
2. The ending, for your songs Stan, is fine and works, but again, I think I might have liked something else better. A fade or a real ending, etc. Think "Tell Me Why" by the Beatles, adapted for this song.
Other than those two picky points, it works all round.
And why would you want to break with tradition?

I just had a (belgian) moment to listen to your song on my poor laptop speakers : what a VERY nice song, Stan ! And very well recorded too.
Say, why don't you write for the Stones ? Gulley/Richards would be a lot more refreshing than the present Jagger/Richards, I'm sure.
I said it before : here's a very talented man at work !
Well done, Stan.

As always, thank you guys for the encouraging words. I may do some work on this like bring up the lead track in certain spots of the mix. As for intros & endings, I need some major work in these areas. As for keeping the tradition going this place will always feel like home.
