Stan,
As usual for me when listening to anything (even commercial stuff), my poor hearing won't allow me to pick-out all the words in the lyrics. But even so, it seems to me that having so much going on with the electric guitars during most of the singing is bound to distract the listener from the message of the vocal, more so because of the shrill tone of the electrics. Of course, as with similar comments I have made in the past, I am biased because my taste in musical arrangement often runs counter to the style of much of your stuff. Still, I would recommend that you rethink the electric parts with an ear toward making them complement or even reinforce the vocal message.
Just my 2 as always.
Regards, Tom

Tom, I think your advise is very close to what I'm thinking. Vocals were quickly thrown together just to have lyrics and a basic start; may not even follow the same melody. They are going to need a lot more work to pull it off the way I want it to sound... very sloppy and undefined.
I was thinking about completely throwing out 1 of the electric guitar tracks which should cut down on the over-crowded parts. The structure so far is a rough draft.
Thanks for listening & confirming, Stan

I agree with Tom; every part sounds like it's coming from a different song. I'm ignoring the vocals as much as I can. The drum part with all the sixteenth notes clashes horribly with the riff the guitar plays in the verses. The guitar is very mellow, actually; the drums are gnashing along like a chainsaw.

Looks like the drums are coming out... and at least one guitar part before a new vocal attempt.... then maybe keep in the lyrics. Maybe change the title: Is Texas Massacre a better title? I basically went ahead and tried the above suggestions including a completely new drum track, but left out the vocal part. I'm trying to simplify but still keep as much energy as possible. I'm almost thinking a mellow yet Megaphone (PS5 FX) for the vocal track but haven't decided.

I made a 2nd pass at this song last night and replaced the drums with another track less overplayed.
I first attempted to use the PS5 Megaphone vocal effect but it wasn't what I wanted. So I dialed in a 2488 distortion effect and got close to what I was looking for. Maybe my suggestion of using PS5 Fx effects into the 2488 in not such a great idea or maybe it was the effect I was using.
