Nice tune. Is there a bass part in this? I couldn't tell for sure.
Overall the stereo spread is nice and wide (GF, are you paying attention?), and it has a good spacious feel. Balance is not bad, everything sits in the mix comfortably. The only thing that gets lost at times is the vocal itself. Which is too bad, as it's very good. It's got a 'boxy' feel to it without as much presence as it could use to stand out a bit better. For example, every time you get to the heart of the matter, "...don't tell 'em the tru...", it gets lost in the sauce. I don't think it's volume, might be just lacking some low end or perhaps changing around the reverb, or something else.
Other than that, it's a winner. Now, why aren't you writing songs like this?

I backed down on the reverb on vocals and swapped out the organ track sound with some pretty harmonics. I think the dynamics of the song comes through better now. It hopefully gives more presence to the overall tracks like acoustic guitar and drums. Thanks for your suggestions Mike because I do curn these things out faster than I should.
Today, I just started writing an original song and I am taking my time. I've constructed a piano meledy and drums to start but at the very beginning stages of creation (which to me is the fun part).
