Dug this one out of an archive CD from 2007 but all of the tracks were submixes and not usable. That was in the day when I didn't know how to back up my songs properly. Anyway, I redid the whole song from scratch and also generated a pedal steel guitar sound out of converting some small guitar audio to midi and then running it through a soft synth. soundcloud.com/rockwall-home-recorder/but-i-found-jesus

I think if Tom Petty did Christian rock, it would sound like this. Catchy melody, bouncy backing. I like the crispness of the bass, and the slide guitar. Also the little keyboard stabs buried in the background. Vocal is clear and up-front. I don't recall the original track, but I'm sure this is a vast improvement.

Thanks Mike. Seldom do I ever go back to an older song that I wrote unless it is to cringe and click to the next project. It proves that no matter what the age you can still be somewhat educated. And frankly, w/o this forum I would have never taken the next step. Not saying the world is any better for it but I sure have enjoyed the ride myself & the people that I have bumped in to.

Some interesting ear candy in this one. I too really like the bass nice and punchy. A few timing stumbles, that come out in the drum pattern. Ya this a charming christian tune. I enjoyed the listen!
