I've not heard this one before. Nice track. Don't hear too much to note; I never heard the organ until the ending; I kept thinking it could use some sustaining part starting in the second verse, just like an organ. Also the whistling sound in the solo took me by surprise.

Let me fiddle with it some more... thanks for bringing these up...
I tried to solidify the midi tracks (or get rid of them) and also changed up the harp solo in the middle. Not the most exciting song to do but an interesting one.

Hey Stan
I think you just covered my favourite Petty song, this one if I recall was one of the later singles... It did quite well on local radio here in Alberta. I remember hearing this one on the bus ride to school on many many mornings.
Good job on this, nice vocal harmony and good lead vocal, great acoustic playing. I feel like maybe the bass should come in with the drums and just have the acoustic and piano in the intro verse or maybe a simpler bass line in that intro verse. Not sure what the original did but it seems to pop out to me...
I think you have just the one high harmony, might consider putting in just off centre, I find that a single harmony is usually best served just off centre. It would help thicken that vocal sound in the middle as well I think. It strikes me as being pretty far right right now...
I really enjoyed this Stan, one of my favourite covers you've done.
