story: about 9 years ago (or so) a bunch of us from all over the world were recording on the same equipment the Tascam PS5. . . through the magic of ftp and the internet we shared files, a bass player laying down a track in germany, a sax from ireland, a drummer from usa, etc. you get the idea. then we would add them all together and create a full song, once again, never having met each other, only over the net. so, one night i decided to write a simple song (a simple demo in my home studio) to wish them all a merry christmas. all the names i mention in the song are the internet names which they recorded or posted under . . . .we all sat in our home studios and wrote and played and recorded thousands of miles apart. so, this is the song i wrote one night (took about a half hour), recorded on an old 1960's Teisco (think Sears cheap). our wives, significant others etc wanted us to get out of our recording caves, so going to "Tony's Garage" is symbolism for going into our individual recording caves and sharing files back and forth. . . . anyway, for what it's worth, this is that simple song, recorded long ago in my simple studio in Colorado, USA . . . that's the story

Ah, those were the days, huh Rog? We're still at it - Stan and I just did another collab; different machines, same goals.
For those that don't get the newsletters, Roger is living in Turkey these days, having been in Russia the past few years.

Hey Roger. Always good hearing from you. Yes Mike & I still collaborate and Cameron comes by and is producing a CD of his original songs! but most of the rest have moved on; some doing professional recordings and even gigging around. The good thing about music is that we never stay the same. Hopefully, we gradually improve, in some way, as time goes on or else we gradually loose interest.
Yes Those Were the Days, and stay thirsty my friend.

Welcome back Roger! Always like that song, your song is such a great tribute to our community. Those were good times and I learned and grew so much because of all you guys! I'm not writing a song everyday anymore but I still got many melodies floating in my head lol! Good to hear from another alumni!
