I think the Shocking Blue were from Denmark??? I really liked this band and for what they put out in 1970. The lead singer was great but I think she died in 2005. Anyway, this was a bit of a challenge but lots of fun to experiment with: soundcloud.com/theirishtexan/venus

As I've said before, you have no fear, Stan! It does have that retro-80's vibe. Not sure what if anything needs tweaked here. Normally I'd say the vocal sounds like it's coming through a taxi microphone, but that may be just the effect required for this track. A surprising choice to be sure, but it's hard to go wrong when you stick to the original.

A couple of things I did different were I sang the same notes in both vocal tracks 1 octave apart, and my recorded tempo was at 120 instead of 126 bpm slowing it down just a bit.
Thanks for listening Mike. I throw these covers out so randomly that I can't even keep up with them. Love the old 60s/70s stuff.

Nice one Stan. I knew the hook to this one from TV commercials lol. Nice job capturing that retro sound, sounds great. The layered vox was cool too had some good edge to it.

Thanks Cameron for listening. It's fun messing with these old ones. After I'm rid of this seasonal bronchitis that I seem to get I'm going to dream up my own song soon.
