I kinda struck out on this but kept on persisting. I really like this song but some of the old ones are hard to record w/o sounding like a wanna be. soundcloud.com/theirishtexan/melissa

While it's true that in the early 70's, record producers loved their reverb, it does tend to sound dated to our more modern ears nowadays. I don't hear anything inherently 'wrong' with any of the tracks in this mix, but I'd certainly remix it with a lot less 'verb. It adds a layer of mud over everything (listen to the lack of treble in the acoustic guitars, and no 'sizzle' in the cymbals). I don't know what effect is on the lead guitar, but it sounds like it's been reverbed twice (reverbing the reverb). Nothing a remix and perhaps a little more EQ can't take care of.

Hey Stan, I liked this cover man! Ya I agree more of the dry guitar signal would be good. Oddly enough I could use a touch of verb on the vocal. I like the performance Stan you did a good job, good vocals. Ya like Mike was saying, I could use a bit of sparkle and air, which might be a matter of getting some of the mud out of those lower mids. Looking forward to hearing a remix. Good work!

My brother in law lives there so we were introduced to most of the places on the island. I would have loved to stay for at least a month.
