Cam,
Excellent quality song, with really good lyrics! I like your light flange with echo backing effects, and your lead was clear & precise. Vocals were really on key; nail it. What else? Loved overall feel & balance through its entirety!
Keep it up man, you are doing it!

Yep, kids these days are so ingenious! Wait a minute Rob, your just a kid too. I'd say it is time for grandpa to go to bed but I just got up. Better put in my false teeth, limp into the kitchen, take my arthiritise pills and see if the fingers will bend enough to move slowly around the fret-board. I'm not jelous (just a little green with envy). [glow=red,2,300] [/glow]

Great song!!, I loved the guitar, good fills in the chorus. Great Lyrics too, what effect did you use for the electric guitar?.

Hey
Thanks guys I really appreciate it glad you like it!
Gmellion, the electric guitar effects are being provided by my new Boss GT-6 unit ( WHich I am really enjoying)
Its a pretty basic distortion though I cant remember what its emulating.
Keep em coming, Cameron

The previous reviews pretty much said it all. I can hear the BOC sound in the guitar as well. Good composition, arrangement, vocals, playing, etc. The intro and verse is a subtle steal of Hendrix's version of All Along The Watchtower, heh heh. Overall a fine effort, deserves a professional recording. Certainly one of the top three tunes on Latmat's Greatest Hits.

listened to this again this morning. i really like it, especially the composition, and the guitar breaks. is this your favourite then cam? i noticed on soundclick that you are a really prominent reviewer. i noticed that you have a list of criteria. very interesting. (very smart too). almost a scientific approach to song writing...

Cam, (you're the son I never had) My oldest son (almost 19) took bass guitar lessons when he was 12 for about 8 months. He learned the basics, and got pretty good, but then just left his bass propped up against the wall for the past 6 years. Now I just use his guitar to record with sometimes. My youngest son loves browsing "Guitar Center" and "Musicians Friend" mailers for hours. He can tell you instantly a Tele from a Strat, etc. Last summer he was very interested in guitar and so I showed him some of the basics to practice. He tried it for about a week and then went back to his video games full-time. Now he wants a drum set (he's 15) I've always wanted my kids to play but I don't really think it is in their hearts. But you Cam, If you were my son you would be buying me a nice retirement home up in Canada after your first or second American tour! Stan

Hey thanks rob I appreciate those plays man, I’m trying to break top 10 on them pop rock charts but I'm loosing momentum now and starting to drop! It’s a hard chart to do well on. Is closer to hope my fav., I don’t know, I'm really proud of this one, because of the great responses it has brought out of people, I mean I got three messages on my message board in one day telling me how much they thought the song was a big step for me or how much they liked it, not to mention the sc forum. So I think it’s that people are connecting with this song that really makes me proud of the song! Yeah every once in a while I do reviews, on soundclick, I’m not very prominent though. Its the Steve Gilmour and Mike-k reviews that get the most respect, Ranch aka Thomas is quite respected too, regardless people have said that they enjoy my reviews cause I am quite comprehensive, its takes along time to do a review proper so I really just don’t have time to do them everyday, so I do them every once in a while just to give back to the community! If you ever want me to do one for you in this style of critique just ask! Stan, I think music is something that just clicks, I tried to learn piano when I was about 15 and I just didn’t have the drive to do it. But when I was 17 or so it did, playing guitar. One thing that I did was I bought my bass, and my best friend bought an electric guitar (Who was living at my house at the time). With out my best friend I would never have even considered learning guitar, he sparked up the Idea that we could start a band and I thought that would be really cool. So we sat plunking away for quite some time! I did lots of reading and learning and I connected with the instrument! I took off and music became my life! My friend on the other hand never got too far passed the power chord; he still plays but doesn’t have that drive to get better! He’s been playing 3 years and isn’t much better then he was after his 1st year! I think this was partly because his priorities were different. His were girls, cars, and parties. Mine were music, music and girls when I have time. lol. Right now I think your sons priorities might be different, video games are the world to a 15 year old but when there older, having something to better themselves with that has meaning and brings joy into there life will become more important. I think it’s important for every one to have something their good at whether its music, art or acting, anything creative is a good thing. It’s just a matter of helping them along to find that creative spark! and being there to allow them time and resources to develop there talent. You know, I wish my dad was more musical! I think this works both ways! My dad plays a little trumpet but other then that he doesn’t really do much in that department. I often think if he had played guitar he could have taught me guitar at a younger age. I think about how good I might be now if I started playing then! But then I think that I might not be playing guitar at all if that was the case! I'm sure the kids will find the passion soon enough it just might not be music but that ok too. Thanks for all the support guys, Cameron
